Stayed here on a trip to Melbourne. Great location on the main road to the airport and on the tram line into the city. Good room and facilities. Only minor issue is the smell of cooking in the foyer area. The check in desk is part of a hospital complex in which there are a number of different outlets including McDonalds.
We stayed here since we were arriving late and wanted to stay some where close on the way from the airport to Mornington. Found hotel easily and the check in was simple. Didn't expect parking fee, but most probably didn't read the fine print. Right next to Monash University which might be helpful for many people.
This is the third time I have stayed here and I was not disappointed. Wonderful facilities for the price and a great location. Staff were a little slow to come out to the counter but were extremely pleasant and helpful once they were there. Late checkout was fantastic. Will stay here again.
An inner-city suburb, Carlton is known as Melbourne's 'Little Italy.' Lygon Street is the hub of Italian tradition, lined with a plethora of cafés, European cake shops, gelaterias, trattorias, and fine Italian restaurants. The area is also home to well-preserved examples of Victorian architecture and the World Heritage-listed Royal Exhibition Building and Carlton Gardens.
