The pool was being repaired. The Ice machine on our floor was broken. There were not nearly enough tables and chairs in the breakfast area on Saturday morning.
We had to book a last minute stay after our other hotel plans fell through. This hotel was great! We had a great stay!

Just okay.
We found this hotel to be average at best. Noisy/congested location. The hotel showed a good deal of wear...website is over highlighted. Breakfast was minimal.

Great experience at Hampton Inn Carlsbad. The biggest factor of the booking is the location. Our room was clean, decent amenities (gym, hot tub, and pool). Breakfast was pretty standard for a free breakfast. I recommend the facility to other patrons especially those with little ones!
Hotel very nice. Good to know in the future there is an pet fee. Only complaint is dripping shower kept us awake. Front desk responded promptly about sending someone to fix it but all they did was put towels under the drip (didn't stop us hearing it)
The property is good, and standard Hampton Inn accommodations. Hotel room lighting is terrible! No over head in main room and only two small table lamps with dull bulbs. Just don’t get room 216. There are issues with pigeons where the hotel signage is, which is unfortunately directly out the window of room 216. They have fogged out the window but that means the room is even darker. Pigeon poop can still be seen all over the window and the birds are very noisy. No bother to us since we enjoy the wildlife sounds but may be a problem for others. On the upside for service: hotel maintenance brought brighter bulbs for lamps and brought in an extra lamp for us, which is so great! We are older and do t see as well as we used to so the dim lighting was wreaking havoc 😊. Appreciated how nice they were about it! Overall happy with our stay!
We stayed here two nights, the staff was really friendly, the room was clean, and the breakfast had a good variety each day. While the hotel was pretty full based on the parking lot, it was also very quiet.
