We had a family reunion with family from all over the US. The house was spacious and comfortable. There were a couple of minor problems: The two-car garage doesn't fit two cars and still allow egress - a two large built-in made it impossible to open the car door. You could not park on the street, so that was a little stifling for visitors. A bathroom door knob didn't work, so privacy was sacrificed, and we could figure out how to lock the back door. Mar 31, 2025 Disliked: Cleanliness #### Coastal Carlsbad Vacation Rental Review – San Diego Our recent stay at this rental home in San Diego had both positive aspects and areas that required improvement. The home provided ample space to accommodate our group comfortably, and its location was convenient for exploring the area.However, we encountered several maintenance and cleanliness issues that impacted our overall experience. Upon arrival, we noticed that the property had not been thoroughly cleaned, as there were multiple spider webs and large spiders present inside the house. Additionally, the upstairs loft had peeling paint, which appeared to be the result of a previous water leak. The back patio screen was also damaged prior to our arrival.Further concerns included dirty AC vents, chipped bed frames, and a cracked lamp with missing pieces. These issues gave the home a neglected appearance and detracted from the comfort of our stay.While the property has potential, addressing these maintenance and cleanliness concerns would greatly enhance the guest experience. With proper upkeep and attention to detail, this rental could be a more inviting and enjoyable option for future visitors. ##### Denise W. Reviewer Comments: My family and my brothers family stayed at the margaret home while visiting family in Carlsbad over the holiday. This home was perfect for us! With 4 adults and 6 children, we all had plenty of room to have our own spaces, yet come together to eat at a big table and enjoy company. The arrival and departure were super smooth and the house was well maintained and had everything we needed for our stay. The street was quiet and all the neighbors seemed to be lovely. We loved the location! My brother rented an e-bike for the week and the home was super accessible to all that Carlsbad Village has to offer. Revolution Roasters became a favorite coffee spot and the Goods was a big hit for donuts for the kids. We are thankful to have had a great home base for the week. ##### Ashlee F.
