Great rooms with excellent beds for a good night's sleep. Easy access out doors to walk the dog with plenty of grass and areas for them to do their business. Staff is excellent and very helpful. Breakfast is great with plenty of choices for hot and cold items. We stay here often because it's such a great place and near malls, restaurants, etc.
I arrived at the hotel just as the snow began to fall. The front desk staff immediately was concerned and wished us safe travels out on the roads as I went to a restaurant that I remembered from 23 years earlier. The area was only suppose to only get 9 inches of snow but unfortunately totals was raised up to 36 (3 Feet) inches. Made it back to hotel after eating. The next day the whole hotel staff spent the night so that we would have breakfast and clean towels in the room. Being that everything in the surrounding area was closed - no stores or restaurants open, the hotel provided us with breakfast as our dinner. They did not have to do that. The whole staff were very friendly and concerned with our stay and comfort. I give the **** 4 stars!
We were greeted very pleasantly just before midnight and checked in efficiently, even remembering to ask and set up our wake-up call.. We were in one of their business place rooms. I was impressed that there was a desk, dresser, table for our suitcase and a nice table for work. They also had enough outlets to plug in all of our tech, including 3 phones and 2 laptops, without having to unplug anything. The free WiFi was fast and easy to connect to. Room was clean as was the bathroom. The next morning we were able to partake of a wonderful breakfast that included make your own waffles along with sausage patties, scrambled eggs, a nice variety of breads and muffins, and a large selection of cereals. The staff was very friendly and it was their attitude and efforts that really made the stay perfect.
In historic downtown, restored buildings like the Carlisle Theater add charm. Antique shops, galleries, and boutiques line Pomfret and High streets. Dickinson College, near the main square, was the first college chartered by the U.S. The Carlisle Barracks and Army Heritage Museum illustrate the rich military history. Ten auto shows and other events are hosted annually at the Carlisle Fairgrounds.
