Family-friendly cottage across from the ocean in Cardiff-by-the-Sea Come enjoy this freshly updated, retro beach cottage just a half mile from the sand and a 10-minute walk to Pipes (Cardiff State Beach) and Swami's Beach. This is a beautiful section of the coastline, and this home offers miles of beautiful Pacific views. You can stroll on the lovely walking and bike path from Cardiff to Encinitas. If you'd rather, you can relax without effort on 2 well-furnished ocean view patio decks. Just a few steps from the great room is a long deck with high top stools and a wide railing, just right for morning coffee or an evening libation. The second patio deck, down a few stairs, offers a stunning unobstructed ocean view and is the perfect place for a barbecue and outside dining for 4-6\. A comfortable fire pit cluster is the perfect place to watch the glow of the fire and the sunset at the same time. This two-bedroom, two-bath, 1,400-square-foot, single-story cottage has had some modern updates and sports all new furniture both inside and out, all of which will delight the pickiest of guests. The great room, with a large window flanked by original stain glass overlooking the awe-inspiring Pacific Ocean, sports a large TV and a cozy and comfortable seating cluster. A view-dining alcove has a ceiling fan to keep you comfortable at all times. The kitchen has all the modern conveniences you expect, making it easy for you to create meals and snacks. All you need do is add the food and the camaraderie and enjoy yourselves. This home has two bedrooms - a king primary bedroom with an en suite bath with a shower/tub combination. The second bedroom has a queen bed and there is a kid-friendly loft with a queen foam mattress and a full sofa sleeper in the living room. The second bathroom is shared, and all beds and bathrooms are furnished with an ample supply of premiere linens to ensure your ultimate comfort. You are within walking distance to the Cardiff Town Center, home of the famous Seaside Market (Cardiff Crack), VG's Donuts, & many restaurants and cafés. Outside there is plenty of room to stretch out and enjoy one another with a multi-level deck with an outside dining area, barbecue, and a comfortable fire pit seating cluster. The backyard is well landscaped and maintained giving you the feel of the beach surrounded by lush landscaping and colorful plants to delight your senses. This cozy original cottage has all the charm you need to make this a perfect, and easy vacation destination. This home sits high on a hill and may not be suitable for everyone as there are stairs to the entry and the beach. THINGS TO KNOW This home is west of I-5 and is on a fairly busy street. There are two additional units on this property that are occupied year-round. The stairs on the south side of the property are the long-term tenant's access to their units. This home is located in a quiet neighborhood and is only suitable for quieter groups. Our rental agreement includes a no-tolerance policy regarding excessive noise, occupancy, and/or parties. Deposit forfeitures and/or evictions are strictly enforced. This home is managed by the family owners. Encinitas permit number: RNTL-025649-2023 Parking notes: There is free parking for 1 vehicles. We had a wonderful stay at this cottage in Cardiff! Lynn, Kit & Tyler were very responsive and awesome hosts. It was the perfect home base to visit our family in Carls Bad. Our 20-something sons loved the proximity to 2 great surf breaks and my husband and I loved the walking/biking/running path to soak up the views and pick up some famous VG donuts on the way home. The tastefully outfitted vintage place was everything we needed, both physically and naturally, as we visited our favorite old friends and place in an area we know well. Fabulous beaches, dramatic sunsets, great restaurants, diverse hiking trails... all right there. The thoughtfulness and hospitality of Kit and crew added to the feelings of returning home. A 10-12 minute walk to the beach, grocery store, dining, shopping--Swami's Beach, Cardiff Town Center, and downtown Encinitas. And the weather was perfect for walking everywhere. We even took the Coaster train from Encinitas to downtown San Diego. The beach cottage was cozy and relaxing. Plenty of room for our family of four. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you could possibly need. The cottage was very clean and well maintained. We needed assistance with an item and the on-site person quickly responded and fully addressed our need. We'll definitely be back. We really enjoyed our time at the Cardiff Beach Cottage. ##### Mike R. Just wish we had some sun but the cloudy conditions made it feel cozy and comfortable. My sister and brother in law loved watching the parade of walkers. I live in San Diego and this location was perfect, walking distance to downtown Encinitas, ocean views, and outdoor space for BBQing. From the moment my booking was confirmed, Lynn made sure I knew there were stairs leading up to the house to ensure my grandpa would be able to take them. We enjoyed BBQing on the front deck, hanging out around the fire pit, looking out over the ocean. Lynn was very responsive throughout the entire process - from booking, answering questions during our stay, and after as well. We would stay here again! ##### Michelle J.
