"Mimi’s Palace is a self-contained modern 2-bedroom ground floor apartment in Santa Marta – very handy for the airport at Varadero, if you have just arrived in Cuba or are leaving shortly, but Santa Marta itself is a lovely little town with some nice restaurants and bars, a great beach and a marina – well worth a longer visit if you would prefer to keep away from the big hotels out on the peninsula. The apartment is clean, comfortable, air-conditioned and well-equipped - microwave, kitchen equipment, good kettle, etc. The beds and the towels are huge. The owner, who is very friendly, lives upstairs, but the ground floor apartment has its own courtyard garden with a fountain, and we were visited there by the owner’s delightful little dog – a definite plus! Breakfast was really good. "

"Cleanest place I have stayed in in Cuba. Good staff with very limited English and me with no Spanish. I arrived in terrific rain storm and the staff let me have my room early at no extra charge. Two cute, well behaved, friendly quiet house dogs. When I was waiting for a taxi the next morning, the landlady brought me coffee. Much appreciated. Nice clean place smelling slightly of new paint, always a good sign. "

"We had a lovely time staying with Isis. Her and her husband are truly lovely people. Their home was immaculately clean, they were friendly and welcoming without being overbearing, and the location was excellent. We were able to enjoy the beach which is only a block away and felt safe in the area even at night. The location is close to town and great restaurants. We had everything we needed in the home and Isis was always ready to give you whatever you needed. They were so sweet. It felt like you were staying with family. We loved lounging in their garden."

"Absolutely lovely space, we stayed here in Feb 2024 and can't wait to return! The room was spacious with a king size bed and had a large bathroom with twin sinks, soaker tub and a gorgeous tiled shower. Swimming is close by maybe 200m, in a sheltered bay. It's a public beach, but quiet. There is no lifeguard. Restaurants are close by, within 800m so an easy walk, but our host Jiscily makes such a wonderful breakfast that we gladly paid the extra. There is no scheduled garbage pickup in Boca, apparently, so don't be surprised if you see garbage on the streets, watch your step. There are foot washing areas near the entrance so you don't need to track sand upstairs. Thank you Olga and Jiscily for a terrific stay!"

"Amelia and her son Pepe were excellent hosts. Very kind, informative and helpful as we navigated the travel and local currency. The property was very well maintained and we felt safe in our room. It was great to have access to a fridge inside our room too. There walk to Varadero beach was easy, plus restaurants and the beach bus. Highly recommend. "
