"We had a wonderful time in Carate, and this house was the ideal home base for all of our activities. We saw scarlet macaws and toucans regularly and were fortunate enough to see a tapir pointed out by the very helpful property manager and tour guide, Yeri. The house has simple but impressive amenities for how remote the area is. The drive to get there is an adventure in itself but you could not be closer to the park once you arrive! "This place is truly part of the jungle - we saw tons of bird and had monkeys, coatis and even a huge spider inside of the treehouse. We felt one with nature, while still living in a very clean and comfortable space. There were no mosquitos at night which was a pleasant surprise! "Watching monkeys and toucans eye level while drinking coffee in the morning, listing to the rain or wildlife during the night. Making dinner or playing cards in the evening 70 feet in the tree. We never felt scared or unconformable, but very alive, therefore our family of 5 will never forget that experience. Very unique tree house with all the the features a home needs. "Casa verde is the perfect jungle house on the beach. Capuchin monkeys and scarlet macaws are your neighbors and you are immersed in the rainforest wildlife. Amazing coffee was provided. I would recommend this home to everyone except i don't want it to be booked up next time i visit! It takes about 30 minutes off the main road in a 4x4 but it is well worth the journey. "We were in Drake Bay for three nights for a couple of days of diving with our two adult children. The house was perfectly situated, lots of space, and an amazing covered deck area with an afternoon breeze. Everything went very smoothly from first communications through to check-out. "This was an amazing space for a week away with our kids and spouses, who all live in different cities. Tranquil space with lots of options for more excitement (e.g. surfing lessons), and a constant nature show of birds, monkeys, and other wildlife. Delicious food, and friendly staff who went the extra mile (one of our daughters twisted her knee on the first day and needed a few more rides than we'd planned on). We absolutely plan on another visit, hopefully soon!"

"Very difficult to get to - hour and a half of bumpy roads to Carate, then a 3.5k hike. The logistics were not well communicated, but worked out fine. Hot (mid-April visit). The grounds are pretty special with spider monkeys frolicking in the trees right above the tents and ocean waves supplying 24-7 white noise. The guided hike into the National Park was underwhelming - the wildlife was superb, but you only skirt the periphery of the park and don't get to really explore the old growth. "
