Located on Wulfert Channel, a short walk along a sandy path to quiet, private beaches on the Gulf of Mexico. Providence offers unlimited opportunities to enjoy the sun, the sand and the water! PROVIDENCE is a newly constructed 4 Bedroom, 4 Bathroom luxury house. Warm tile floors, quartz kitchen counter tops, elegant kitchen, new furniture, and floor to ceiling windows contribute to a warm, inviting Beach Chic look. PROVIDENCE is a multi-functional home that sleeps 8, welcomes families looking for time together, couples seeking respite from their responsibilities, fishermen, golfers, anyone seeking time to unwind, sun to soak in, water to refresh and a beautiful tropical island experience to remember. PROVIDENCE provides living space that combine utility and utopia. The FAMILY ROOM is a large comfortable, peaceful place to read, watch the 65" FLAT SCREEN TV, visit, snooze or just sit and enjoy the beautiful views of the the natural beauty of the island property or the private pool and spa below. The MASTER BEDROOM has a king bed, a large closet, and a luxurious large bathroom with a soaking tub, double sinks and shower. The East BEDROOM has a queen bed as well as a private balcony overlooking the property, and a private bathroom. The West BEDROOM has two twin beds with a bathroom with tub and shower just outside the bedroom. The Fourth BEDROOM has a Queen bed with a bathroom just outside the bedroom. PROVIDENCE has a large SCREENED LANAI. Located off the main living level connected to the kitchen, family room and Master Bedroom. The screened lanai is furnished with a dining table for 8 and a sectional couch. The lanai overlooks the private pool and hot tub below as well as the lush grounds. Below the lanai is a large shaded area with chaises to enjoy the pool and hot tub while staying out of the sun. There is a LARGE SUN DECK surrounding the OUTDOOR HEATED POOL and HOT TUB to relax and take in the warm sun. We have 6 bicycles (we do not supply helmets) and 3 kayaks (we supply life jackets) for your use. We also supply 8 beach chairs as well as 8 chaises for lounging around the heated pool and hot tub. Once there, what we loved most were the high ceilings/doorways, spacious rooms and hallways, retractable glass doors leading to a balcony with a beautiful western view and eagles nests on either side, comfy furniture, super solid master bed, enormous master shower, sounds of birds throughout the day, detailed landscaping, interior entry to the upstairs...and most welcoming owners! We didn't expect any of these things and appreciated them greatly. The house is beautiful and very large, with more space than we needed. We did not use the lower level at all (which includes king bedroom and rec room) although that space would have been great for a larger group. The primary suite and 2 bedrooms/bathrooms on the main living level make up an ideal floorplan for families with young kids. We spent nearly every day at the beach, which is a short walk across the street (very easy even for our 4 year old). The house is ideally situated across from a portion of the beach that is fairly removed from any public beach access point, so it often felt like we had the beach to ourselves even during our busy spring break week in late March. The beach chairs, umbrella, and cart for transporting those items to the beach were all of excellent quality and in excellent condition. The house was perfect for our family (2 grandparents, 2 parents, 2 teenagers). Extremely clean and updated with a terrific basement den. The beach across the street has a very private feel to it. We were there during spring break and there were only ever a handful of other folks on our stretch of the beach. We just returned home after spending a week in Providence on Captiva! Our family, including our daughter, her husband and two little boys, spent Christmas week there. Michael decorated a Christmas tree for us as well as filled the property with festive lights, making it feel like home! He was an amazing host, always making sure we were comfortable. The house was spacious, clean and comfortable. We lived mostly on the beautiful screened porch and the outdoor pool area. The property is ideally located between the Gulf and the bay. It’s an easy short walk to the beach for the sunsets. We spent a lot of time fishing off the back dock. It truly is a wildlife paradise, with eagles nests on both sides, dolphin swimming by the dock and flocks of pelican resting on the sandbar! We had the most wonderful week and appreciate everything Michael did to make our stay a memorable one! We highly recommend this beautiful piece of paradise! ##### Janice R. We were not sure what to expect because of Hurricane Ian's impact on Sanibel & Captiva, but the Providence was no different than in our previous stays! Perfect accommodations, easily large enough for the 6 adults in our group. The owners live very nearby and are truly welcoming hosts who are responsive to any needs you may have. The pool, the short walk to the ocean and the bay make for an ideal situation! While some of the local restaurants were not yet re-opened, we found that our stay was not impacted in any major way. Tons of room, big spaces and the pool is great. It was just my husband and I for our anniversary week looking for a peaceful time. Captiva/Sanibel is great for a seashelling or birding enthusiast. Tons of seashells at Turners Beach and Blind Pass Beach. Tons of different birds at the house and the beach and so close up. A bald eagle nest is literally next door and we were treated to the call of the chuck-wills-widow every night. Hosts are extremely accommodating and kind. Michael and Mary have created a perfect vacation environment. The house is beautiful and much larger than we expected. I jokingly said to Michael that normally, our experience has been that vacation home photos on VRBO are taken with a fisheye lens and make a vacation home seem expansive and perfectly maintained, but then when you get to the location, the reality is normally a let down. That was not the case at all with Providence...... We were amazed Providence was much larger and more impressive than what we had assumed from the pictures and reviews. Fantastic location....it has everything. Beach, privacy, wildlife all around, beautiful pool table/pool/hot tub. We used the bikes to ride into the village, the dock offers some amazing fishing. We had great luck fishing from the beach as well. Great shelling near Turner Beach (get off the beach and just step into the water a little ways...you'll find more shells/conchs than you could imagine ;) ). Michael and Mary are wonderful hosts....our teenage kids even commented about how welcoming and nice they were to them;). They have put a lot of work into making Providence a beautiful experience. Providence holds a special place in our family's hearts. This was our second time here (spring break 2022 and 2023) and we were yet again so happy to be here! The island itself is still recovering from the hurricane, but everything that Michael and Mary have done to repair and rebuild makes a stay here more than worth it. The house is immaculate, just as it was in 2022 if not better, the private pool and hot tub are wonderful, the short walk to the beach is just as it was before. And that's what we come to Captiva for - time to relax as a family and be outside on the beautiful white sand beach. Michael was very upfront with us about their landscaping being in the restoration process. The house itself is immaculate. We did not venture out much besides the beach (we picked up groceries in Fort Myers for the week), but Michael had a thoroughly researched list of several places and restaurants that we could have gone out to had we desired.
