We received the original and the renewals of the highly sought after short term vacation rental seal of approval/certificate from the County of Hawaii meeting all their stringent requirements. When you rent our home you receive the entire home guaranteeing privacy for you and your family or friends. The Lanai/ Patio and home was designed and layed out for complete privacy. You are staying on the ocean. The ocean is your backyard with this house's location. We ask that prospective guests simply read the reviews from our previous guests both on this website and other rental platforms to get an honest true description of what makes our place so special ! NUC 19 -757 STVR19-354251 This absolute Ocean Front Home it is not situated on a sea cliff but is just a few feet above sea level on sheltered PaPa Bay. Because of this lots unique topography and elevation you are just above the water line and a few steps from walking to the water. Additionally a minute walk away is a public access point in the Bay which the neighbourhood uses to safely go into the water. Please refer to our pictures for a better appreciation of our location on the Ocean. Aside from the superb ocean location and access this house affords, it is a fairly new concrete home designed to meet and surpass all the latest safety and building codes. It is a 2 Bedroom home with the Master Bedroom having an oversized King sized California Bed. This room has a 12 foot wide glass sliding door directly facing the Ocean. The second bedroom has a queen bed. This 2nd bedroom room has a large 6 foot by 4 foot window for views of the Ocean also. In addition it has another 6 foot x 2 foot window for mountain views. The house has 7 separate sliding glass doors which capitalize on it's stunning ocean views. Appliances are all brand new.. The cabinets in the kitchen were custom designed and built for the home. Finally the best way to describe our home is to simply let our previous guests who have stayed there do it for us. It has been almost 7 years since we built the home brand new and have we have been renting it. We have had numerous guests over the years and everyone so far has been very happy with the home and our communications and tips that we give them. The sound of the waves day/night, and the beautiful blue water is something we enjoyed every day. The location is a bit (45 minutes) out of Kona, so if you don't want to drive much, this probably isn't for you. We enjoyed the winding drive in and out of the neighborhood. The neighborhood itself was very quiet and peaceful. The house is nice with lots of little perks (spices, ample outdoor seating, etc.). The furnishings aren't fancy but are fine. If you are looking for a 5-star hotel, this isn't it, but if you are looking for a quaint, lovely place on the ocean, we would definitely recommend this rental. ##### Corey L. There was an internet outage that covered a large portion of the island and Daniel was great about keeping us updated on the status. You are about an hour from Kona & two hours from Hilo. They are down to earth people who made us feel so much at home. They gave us tips on places to go and things to do. If we needed anything or had any questions they immediately responded. The house is very comfortable and homey but the view is absolutely breathtaking. If you are looking for a place to relax or a base to come and go from, we promise you will not be disappointed!! We didn’t want to leave and even though this was a bucket list vacation, we will probably go back! ##### David R. Large modern kitchen with everything you would need - The California king was so very comfortable, slept in complete bliss every night - This was our 4th time in Miloli'i, so the road down for is just like many other roads on the Big Island, windy - Dan the owner was extremely courteous and being just down the road, we knew we had someone we could count on, if needed - As far as we are concerned, if Dan and Mindy are renting, we'll be coming every year! ##### Gregory J. The house was clean and fully stocked. The beds were very comfortable. The location was great. We found a great snorkeling area in the nearby Honomalino beach. We had the entire beach to ourselves. We enjoyed our morning hikes to the lava rock field at the end of the street. The star gazing was amazing. During our stay, it was very hot and humid. The fans and windows were inadequate to cool down the house at night. We wished the house had covered patios in the back to enjoy the house in the afternoon. The oceanfront views were a spectacular way to start and end our days, soaking in the beauty of the morning sunrise and the amazing sunsets right over the water. The home was very spacious and well cared for. With no shade and no AC there were times it got rather warm, however we used this time to explore and enjoy the island. Dan is great, he provided a lot of information that was helpful during our stay; both in regards to the house and around the island. With a just a short walk we were able to access the ocean for some morning snorkeling; the access however, even with the steps, can be a bit tricky as the steps can be slick and the waves crashing in. Loved watching the waves and going to sleep with doors open and waves crashing in. Away from the city and quiet nights is what we want. Adequet internet and TV for those few lazy days. Place is spacious comfortable and clean. What else does anyone need? The skinny dipping teenagers a couple houses down one afternoon were a bonus. Kona is an hour way on a winding road, but that was well known to us and is not a problem as we dont care to visit the city we went the other direction mostly and visited the wilds. ##### lloyd L. Although it states they have things like shampoos and body soap. There was none…except for what maybe someone accidentally left from previous stay. Hosts are incredibly nice….communication with them is awesome. We ran out of a couple things and they got it to us super fast! Just an important fyi to anyone wanting to travel a bunch into Kona and such. This cute and quiet place is an hour away. And the road down to this really cute neighborhood and place is extremely winding…and at times nerve wracking…..especially in the dark. If you don’t mind the drive…this place is a sweet gem! The neighborhood is so quiet, we saw a few people walking in morning or evening but other wise didn’t see or hear anybody. It is amazing to open all the doors and windows and sleep to the sound of the ocean. The sunsets are beautiful from the back porch. It is best to stock up on groceries in Kona, there is small stores within 10 minutes but the prices are higher, they do have just about everything you would need. We got some water 1st day at store but then refilled the water jugs provided, the water you get at fill stations taste good. The house was well stocked with basic salt,pepper, coffee filters, small cooler and then odds and ends people have left. We enjoyed just sitting on back porch enjoying the quiet. My husband fished off the rocks and caught quite a few little fish. He snorkeled in front of the house and saw a lot of fish. We went to the park by the house and walked into the beach. It is short hike and only us and another couple on beach all day. We explored a lot of beaches on south end and most were less crowded, you have to hike a little less than a mile for some but payoff is no one there. The road down is curvy but we didn’t find it bad, even drove it at night and it was fine. House is very easy to locate. Enjoyed talking to owner he was very nice and was there for anything we needed. No time share presentations! Dan and Mindy are the perfect hosts. Thank you Mindy for that wonderful brunch talking story about life on the Big Island in this very special niche community. You'll be in a 2-bdrm home with full kitchen and a view of the stars from the sliding ocean-facing bedroom doors to kill for. It's life on the rocks (lava rocks). And large sliding doors throughout the home to showcase the lava shelf meeting the ocean. Great snorking off of a quaint dock about a block away. You'll experience the rural life of the modern day islander living at the base of a volcano. (But the technology is there too - high speed internet connection providing seamless video streaming if you bring your own device.) Be prepared for the thrill of an 11-minute drive down a winding mountain road to arrive. Not for the faint-hearted - but the road is paved and well-maintained, unlike some other roads like this in Hawaii. No need for a 4-wheeler. And part of the overall experience. Great beaches within 20-30 minutes drive once up on the highway. However - expect to encounter the full-on nature experience - which included the occasion buggy or tiny mosquito that inhabit the laval rocks surrounding all the homes in this type of setting. Not the Four Seasons. But definitely for the one who chooses to experience the road less travelled. ##### Rod M.
