This quaint pet-friendly beach home offers a getaway for up to 6 guests in the beautiful Capitola - steps away from the beach! Inside, you'll find a cozy bedroom, a versatile family room transformed into a sleeping haven, 1.5 bathrooms, a fully-stocked kitchen, living room, & a spacious patio.

This house was previously a smoking home, & while efforts have been made to eliminate odors, a residual smell still lingers. Please ensure this is something you’re comfortable with before booking.

The Space:
- Comfortably sleeps up to 6 adults
- 1 bedroom with a queen size bed + a family room that has been converted into a sleeping area with a king bed and a bunk-bed (full size & twin mattress)
- 1.5 bathrooms
- 1 parking space in the garage + paid street parking available
- Fully stocked kitchen w/ Keurig coffee maker
- Living room
- Back patio with Traeger Grill
- For safety, the fireplace is not operable.

Note:
- No gatherings or parties allowed (strictly enforced)
- The exterior of this home is monitored by 24/7 surveillance recording devices for safety.
- Smart TVs with streaming capabilities (no local channels or cable).
- This home is pet friendly for 1 dog (30 lbs or less) for a $25/night fee. This fee will be added after the booking is confirmed and the initial booking is paid for -- Let us know if you want to bring your Dog! We are not able to host any other types of pets at this home.

Guest Access:
Guests have access to the entire house, including a washer, dryer and a garage parking space for one car. Please note there is not room for a car to park in the driveway.

With your own parking space you can easily park your car upon arrival and enjoy the rest of the trip by foot!

- Whole Foods, New Leaf, and Safeway (3-6 minute drive)
- Downtown Santa Cruz and the famous Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk (15-20 minute drive North)
- The Monterey Bay Aquarium (50 minute drive South)

Other Things to Note:
- Please note that this house was previously a smoking home, and while efforts have been made to eliminate odors, a residual smell still lingers. Please ensure this is something you’re comfortable with before booking. Smoking is not allowed on the property.
- Please also note some of the doorways to the bedrooms are smaller than the standard.
- We are required to stick to our cancellation policy and we suggest adding trip insurance for any last minute issues that may impact your travel (Weather, Illness, etc). We are not able to cancel, move or refund bookings that do not fall in our cancellation policy for any reason.
- TV is a smart tv with streaming capabilities. There are no cable or local channels.
- The exterior of this home is monitored by 24/7 surveillance recording devices for safety.

Great Location, Spacious Vintage Vibes

Great location near the pier in Capitola. Quick walk to beach. Everything you need from umbrellas, towels, beach wagon, beach chairs. The kitchen was fully stocked to prepare meals. Also appreciated the granola bars; Having a garage was really handy as parking is difficult in Capitola. We were there with my daughter and 2 of her besties for an early 16th bday surf trip. As another reviewer mentioned, to get to the queen bedroom you have to walk through the family bunk room which is where the girls stayed. It would have been awkward if we didn't know the girls well, but was fine for our purposes. Due to this room arrangement, it may be better suited to a family or group of close friends. The balcony was also great. Beds were comfortable. If you like new and modern, this isn't it. It could use a little TLC around door jam and a fresh coat of paint. If you like old school vintage charm and cleanliness, you'll feel right at home. Would definitely stay here again.

This is the best time we have ever had in Capitola! It was so much fun for our kids to just be steps away from the beach! It had everything we needed. The communication was great too! All the instructions we needed were layed out and easy to find! Thank you we will be back!

Great BEACH HOUSE in Capitola!! Cool 70’s Spanish style villa.

Great stylish place close to everything!Definitely not a new freshly renovated place but nice enough to not worry about getting sand on the floors! It’s mostly original 70’s style inside, I wouldn’t say it smells like smoke like in the description, but more like old 70’s wood paneling, not bad, just more like Grandmas house. Big place for a full family of 4! The garage is a nice bonus, it fits a short Escalade no problem, long one may be tight. It also has (5) boogie boards, umbrellas, canopies, beach chairs and a wagon!! So you don’t have to haul that stuff there! Two minute walk to the beach, all the restaurants and bars!! Park once and walk everywhere with ease! Nice patio for dogs too. Definitely will be staying there again.

It was a lackluster experience

While this property was in a great location, we would not stay here again. The heaters did not work and I spent over 7 hours handling calling the customer service line to resolve the issue. It literally took my husband diagnosing the issue and buying the part to get the heater working again for the maintenance man to install at 9-10p at night. Also, it’s a bedroom inside a bedroom. So description and pictures were misleading. Do not recommend this place due to a terrible customer service and not being family friendly.

It has a bit of a funky vibe but that is to be expected with Capitola beach rentals. Overall it was an enjoyable place for the family to stay over the holidays.

Just Don’t

Negative: Got locked out of the unit. Grandkids were wet from playing at the beach, hungry, and had to use the bathroom. Mind you it's about 62 degrees. Called for help to get the code on the door lock. Advice was to turn the knob left! Finally, she said they would send someone out within the hour, that they would call me to let me know when they would be there. Took the Grands to get warm at a nearby restaurant. Two hours later, I messaged for an update. Was told someone came but we weren't there so they left! Help finally arrived. He confirmed the door wasn't working and told me someone wouldn't be out to fix it until the next day. He broke the door to get us in. He was a complete hero! In addition, unit was dirty. Must have termites, droppings on surfaces. Weeds and trash on the back patio. Plumbing is weak. Cannot flush any toilet paper. No window coverings on the bathroom windows. Positive: Location is great. Paid $1,300 to stay here. Was told they would get back to me about compensation....still waiting. Just Save Yourself....Don't Book!

Perfect spot to relax

Capitola area is perfect for a walkable little beach get away. This place is poised just out of view of the ocean but you can hear the waves through open windows. You can see the ocean from back deck but not easily. The home is spacious and very clean. Lovely stay!

Great Location But not for the Disabled or Seniors

O'Neal Vacation Rentals, Dear O'Neal Vacation Rentals, Dear O'Neal Vacation Rentals, The information you provided in your email is incorrect. Your repair person, Reed, who was sent to fix the heaters, informed us that one of the heaters is still not functioning, and the other was not even plugged in. We believe expecting the tenants to be aware of such issues is unreasonable. Also, you already knew about the problem, as you placed two space heaters in the living room and the other in the back bedroom. When we turned on the heaters at around 5 am, the power went off in the unit. Fortunately, we had flashlights and could search for the electrical box in the dark. Please address these issues promptly and provide a satisfactory resolution. As seniors, my husband is disabled, and this location is excellent for us. However, many problems need to be addressed. The electrical plugs in the unit are old, mostly loose, and unusable. Additionally, the shower/tub issue is unreasonable for tenants to be asked to change if it goes from hot to cold water. It was ridiculous, and we couldn't take showers. You should be able to post a note on Vrbo indicating that this location is unsuitable for seniors; we only had to take sponge baths. Yesterday afternoon, they did repair the wall. Unit in the bedroom, thank you. The kitchen was perfect and well-stocked. The bottom line is we had a bad experience with O'Neal rentals; indeed, your other properties are better than this one.
