The Lavender Farm was so fantastic! The only place in our entire month in South Africa with heat and the bed was lined with a heated blanket! Speaking of the bed...it was super comfortable. The staff was so very welcoming. The breakfast good. The view from our room of the lavender field was so beautiful. We visited in July and were so surprised to see it in bloom!

Lavender Farm was only nice. The room was not as clean as we would have expected. The floor in the bathroom and shower were extremely slippery. The water in the room were two tiny bottles which if you used them, you were charged. Thought that would at least have a bottle of water (larger) as part of the base price.

My husband and I needed a breakaway and Lavender Farm was the answer. Nothing was too much trouble. From the time of check in to the time of check out everything was amazing. The staff go more than the extra mile for their guests. We will definately return for another awesome weekend.

Lovely views of the mountains
We stayed in the honey moon cottage. Very spacious with a fire place and a lovely varanda overlooking the lavender field. Breakfast was good and a la carte due to the Covid 19 rules. We did not use the pool. The location is very near town but you will need transport to get into town. We recommend this guest house

a beautiful hotel in a beautiful resort town
A traditional South African small hotel, with separate cottages. Located is a spectacular setting. The pool is small, but very well maintained, with comfortable pool-side chaises. About a mile from Franschhoek...you will need a car. We highly recommend.

I’m so pleased I chose this lovely & charming farm to spend my last days in Capetown. Location is tucked in a quiet street yet only a 6 minute drive to the main street where the shops & restaurants are. We had a huge beautiful room that opened to a terrace complete with patio chairs where you can absorb the view of the surrounding mountains. The room was tastefully designed & spacious with a high ceiling. The garden was delightfully landscaped with various exotic flowers. The lavander farm remained fragrant even if the flowers were just harvested. The pool was truly inviting but we had limited time. Breakfast was perfectly set with a variety of menu options other than the usual breads & meats. Staff who served during breakfast were friendly and accommodating. Frauke, the lady who managed the front desk was quick to answer my emails even before we arrived. The only concern I had was in the afternoons, there was no one at the front desk to ask information. We were checked in by a pleasant helpful young man, Terence but he could not provide some of the information I needed. I wanted to have spa treatment but for some reason booking was difficult & there was no one to ask for assistance. Upon checkout, I found out all the answers for the next visit. I would definitely stay here again. It was the perfect setting for me & my husband to celebrate our anniversary end our visit to South Africa.

Beautiful setting and gorgeous rooms. The chocolates and suggested activities for the day left on our bed was a lovely extra touch. Breakfast cooked to order overlooking the farm and the valley beyond it was the perfect way to start the day. Only slight drawback was location. It’s a beautiful walk into Franschhoek passing a number of excellent wine farms but not advisable in the dark so you’ll need an Uber to get back.

Lovely in every way. Room Was spacious, well decorated, and clean. The entire property was gorgeous, well maintained, and nicely decorated. Breakfast staff was attentive, friendly, and the breakfast was adequate- hot breakfast made to order and cold breakfast was with selection you would eat and not too many unne extras. Staff is sincere. Watched Don do a very kind thing that warmed my heart and endeared me to him- our Uber driver hit a post. I knew that the driver panicked In case of extra expense. There is a very wide disparity of class in Franscchoek. Don was called, he looked and kindly told the guy it’s ok. Yes the accommodations were beautiful and everything was perfectly adequate, but also consider patronizing owners who are downright good people.

Amazing stay
We had a short but wonderful stay at Lavender Farm. The room was huge and bonus point for the heating blankets. The place is lovely and quiet, not too far from the main street by car. Beautiful view on the lavender fields and the staff is super friendly. Too bad we couldn’t stay longer

Beautifully maintained and well serviced property
Beautifully maintained property with excellently trained and attentive staff. Enormous and airy room with well thought out facilities - I particularly enjoyed the overhead shower. Good breakfast with yummy croissants and great cheeses. It’s therefore a pity the site layout isn’t as successful. I recommend you try to get one of the front rooms directly overlooking the lavender field and the Mountain View. For the other rooms around the pool, unfortunately the architect who must have designed the place partially blocked the view of the field by setting the front two rooms too far in, a lost opportunity because it would have been so much nicer to have opened the view for all, including the old manor house (and please take away that big concrete fountain blocking the manor house’s view, it really is unnecessary!)

Hello everyone.Lavender Farm guest house is situated in a quaint town in Franschoek.Absolutely tranquil.The backdrop of the Mountains set the scene with its wintry African sun perching from above the blue grey skies The picturesque lavender bushes in full bloom with its aromatic perfume fragrance greets you through you bedroom windows.Lavender Farm is the perfect home away from to relax and destress from the busy City life. It sets the theme for a moment to breathe in the fresh crisp air which is a Blessing from God Alone.A place I would recommend to visit and enjoy.

It is in a stunning location close to the town and
We were able to check in and deposit our baggage early as the room was available. This enabled us to have the freedom to explore the area which is beautiful.

Tranquility pure next to Franschhoek
We stayed at the Lavender Farm Guesthouse for 2 nights and it was amazing. The room was very spacious with the beautiful lavender growing right outside. Very friendly staff, clean rooms, great shower and one of the comfiest beds that I have ever slept in. The sunloungers are perfect for a day in the sun by the pool. And the guesthouse is only a 3min drive from the main street which was perfect as the guesthouse itself was beautifully quiet. Breakfast had everything that one needs (cereal, granola, cooked eggs on demand, ham, cheese, toast, jam, croissants and the best homemade muffins). Great hiking options within 10min - Mount Rochelle. Only point to criticize is the WiFi reception in the room which wasn’t really strong. But that is a minor thing. We would definitely come back!

I am conflicted about this review. While the property is lovely overall and the location is quite convenient for exploring the area (provided you have a vehicle), my room was overrun by worms. Even after I cleaned up the ones I saw, more soon invaded the room very quickly. I read in another review that the owner refuses to use pest control, which is her right, but then that room should not be rented. In addition, the lamp in the sitting area looked as if it had been dragged through the forest and was covered with some sort of dried on sticky substance. These things meant that my stay was less relaxing and more anxiety-inducing. Who wants to share their room with a bunch of bugs?

Perfect.
Delightful countryside location on the edge of Franschhoek . Excellent room. In our detached unit it was a very good size indeed. Very comprehensive and tasty breakfast served in an attractive dining area. Nice pool area which was still in the sun in late afternoon. Comfortable sun loungers. We would recommend Lavender Farm without hesitation.

This hotel is situated outside but within easy reach of the town. We were not particularly impressed with the quality of accommodation and facilities. Our bedroom, though spacious, was very dated. When we asked for a foam pillow - they were all feather down - we were told that “no one has ever asked for one of those before”. Ridiculous! The bathroom was tired and needed an upgrade. Breakfast was OK but we’ve seen much better everywhere else on this trip. The small pool was a welcome bonus at the end of the day but was in need of repair. Would we stay there again? Yes, but only if there were no alternatives

The hotel and room were beautiful. The only negative was that it wasn’t blooming season for the lavender. We feel like it should be made clear when the lavender is in bloom on the hotel booking page. Staff was very friendly.
