Both bedroom access a well lit library stocked with a wide variety of authors and board games. A two-rope handrail staircase leads to the “shipboard” loft where there are four twin beds with pull out drawer storage, a TV/reading nook and a tiled bathroom (shower, sink, toiler). Off-street parking for a golf cart, and plenty of on-street parking on Monroe and Harbor. Bed linens, bath towels, hand towels, kitchen towels are included in the rental fee. The third floor was great for our college age kids, stairs are steep so might be difficult for little ones. It is literally steps from the beach. This was our first trip to Cape Charles, and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit and staying at Chris' beautiful home! The diner-inspired kitchen was so fun, and made it easy to entertain friends who were also in town. The loft was a huge hit with the teenage boys and the front porch was perfect for morning coffee, or capping off the end of a day at the beach. It was completely perfect for our group--4 adults and 2 kids. (Although we could have fit two more kids upstairs.) The house is so close to the beach that it's a breeze to get there and back. You're also close to anything you may want to access on the main street in Cape Charles. The grill and back patio are perfect for relaxing. The bedrooms and bathrooms are impeccable--linens and towels are high quality and the tubs are deep enough for a great soak! Darin and Suzanne were fantastic as well. They were very responsive throughout the booking process, and easily available if we needed anything. Truly, you don't need to bring an extra thing with you. The kitchen is stocked. There are beach towels, chairs, an umbrella, and beach toys. This place is made for a wonderful, relaxing vacation. My mom was traveling with us, and I think she said "This is the most relaxing beach vacation I've ever had." about five times that week. Two things we brought and we're happy we had (but are certainly not necessary for everyone): a rolling cart/wagon to transport bigger items to the beach and a soccer ball for kicking around the backyard and nearby park. The kitchen had every appliance imaginable, the livingroom has two full couches and an overstuffed chair, the beds were comfortable, the bathrooms were big with enough counter space for toiletries, the laundry room is equipped with large sized washer and dryer, the front porch has plenty of seating and is shaded in the evenings, the owners are very friendly and helpful. Owners have taken great care to think about anything beach vacationers might need. From comfortable beds to beach towels and buckets...this house was well stocked for our needs! Close to the beach and a great porch to enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning. There is something for everyone in the family! Very clean with several amenities to make your stay comfortable. They did not spare any expense when renovating. The TV’s are Samsung Smart Tvs, the bathrooms have deep tubs and hardwired makeup mirrors, the towels are the softest ever, the grill is top notch, and evey other detail is great. The dish TV worked well, and the internet was fats enough to stream Netflix on 3 screens at once. There are tons of sand toys, beach towels, beah chairs, and an umbrella. My 5 and 2 yer old loved the 3rd floor tv nook and twin beds. There was plenty of room for 4 adults and 2 kids in the den. And the hosts were very helpful and easily reachable. It is perfect for 2 families. We spent a lot of time sitting on the front porch drinking our morning coffee or relaxing in the evenings. The living room furniture is comfortable and has a large TV. The kitchen is huge and well-equipped - plenty of space to cook. We liked the diner style seating and decor. There is a nice fire pit, gas grill, and chairs/picnic table in the backyard. Upstairs is 2 master bedrooms. We all slept really well on the king beds and the closets allowed for plenty of storage space. The kids' room is on the 3rd level. There are 4 comfortable beds and a TV space perfect for the kids to set up their video games. We loved the personal touches in the house as well. The owners left us a cake, some salt water taffy from the local candy store, and a welcome basket of goodies which we enjoyed. Darin and Suzanne were willing to go out of their way to make sure we were happy with our vacation. The location was perfect as well. The beach access was very close (maybe 150 yards) - a very easy walk to and from. We enjoyed kayaking and paddleboarding in the bay (we brought our own but there is a place to rent these items.) We also enjoyed just hanging out on the beach searching for hermit crabs and sea glass (which we found a lot!) The town was a short walk as well - there are several cute shops and a few restaurants on the main street. We enjoyed The Shanty and Kelly's Gingernut Pub. There is also a brewery and cidery in town which were great. Thank you Darin and Suzanne! We loved our visit to Cape Charles and plan to return in the future! ##### Katie B. The attention to detail is amazing and quite comfortable and well appointed. We lacked for nothing as we prepared and cooked most of our meals at the house. The location cant be beat as we walked to both town and beach often. I'd say sitting on the front porch was one of our favorite pastimes during our stay.
