Located in Cape Broyle, in the heart of the Irish Loop on the Southern Shore, with 100 years old & counting, the saltbox is a genial alternative to an ordinary homestay! Whether you are hiking the East Coast Trail, going on a boat tour to see the whales & sea birds, or exploring your family history. Are you adventurous? Then this is a perfect home base for you! Pet-friendly environment. Pets are allowed for $25/stay. You will have access to the full house including the backyard. Gordon will be your main point of contact during the booking process and for your stay. Availability to drop in or visit will be based on my own availability but can definitely help with travel plans and places to visit. Our home is at the corner of the Southern Shore Highway and Lower Road in Cape Broyle, a 2-minute walk from Riverside Restaurant and Lounge and four minutes from the ocean. Cape Broyle is a perfect place for an Irish Loop Adventure - whether you are hiking the East Coast Trails to the North or South of us; heading down to Calvert to Sullivan’s Songhouse - a must-do during the season, or heading to Ferryland for a Lighthouse picnic. Bring your kayak and Cape Broyle is a perfect place to do some sea kayaking. While we would certainly recommend a car for your travels during your stay in Newfoundland; you may also be able to get a ride from St. John’s with one of the local taxi companies. This property was recently renovated but is a 100-year-old house - the ceilings are a little lower because people were shorter then :) Pets allowed for $25/stay. We operate on well and septic. The water is not drinkable. We provide water. The pump for the well is in the bathroom for now behind a curtain. Property has a Ring bell - surveillance system This reservation has a Firm cancellation policy - refunds will be issued up to 60 days prior to the check in date. A 100% refund is provided for travellers cancelling at least 60 days before check-in. A 50% refund is provided for travellers cancelling from 30 to 59 days before check-in. No refunds are provided for travellers cancelling less than 30 days prior to check-in. CanadaStays Booking Fees are refundable if you cancel within 48 hours of placing your booking request. Our house rules: primary renter must be 25 or older, no smoking, no parties or events, pets permitted. Because of Pandemic, we are only allowed to accept bookings from guests who are residents of Newfoundland and Labrador - unless you are in an exempt category.
