Il Gobbo is a fabulous holiday house close to the beautiful city of Lucca, Tuscany. This traditional Tuscan farmhouse, set in the midst of olive groves, wildflower meadows and vineyards, is part of an organic smallholding/ agriturismo. 6 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, sleeps up to 14 people; 11 adults, plus three children under 12 yrs. All bedrooms have air conditioning. Comfortable and welcoming, the 300m2 house is built on two floors and has been sympathetically restored, maintaining its original structure and charm.

Casa il Gobbo has an enormous garden, 14m long saltwater pool, large children’s play area, relaxation area with sun loungers, ample shade, spa hot tub, barbecue and wood fired pizza oven. The covered veranda with two wooden tables is a great place to enjoy an alfresco breakfast or dinner, surrounded by the colours, sounds and scents of the Tuscan countryside.

Ideally positioned for visits to Lucca and Tuscany’s historic centres of art and culture: Capannori motorway exit is just 11km away. Reach the Mediterranean coastline and beach in 30 mins; Garfagnana and the rugged peaks of the Apuan Alps in 50 minutes. The local road from the house leads up through ancient villages to Pizzorne, a hilly area where the woods are perfect for hiking, or picnicking, and which offers spectacular views.

Our family carefully restored Casa il Gobbo and has let it as a holiday home since 1987. We continue to make it even more sustainable. Recent eco-friendly upgrades include installing a low energy air conditioning system, solar panels for hot water and converting the swimming pool to saltwater. Our family continues to oversee every aspect of our guests’ stay to ensure they have the best experience and most relaxing holiday possible.

We were 8 adults touring Tuscany and what a fantastic place to stay. We had tons of room, the kitchen is a chef's dream, and the pool was wonderful.The host was great at communication, and helped up find a number of restaurants and wineries.Checkin was easy, and the Villa was exactly as presented in the listing. If you have a small or large group I give this 5 thumbs UP!!!

We had a wonderful family get together at Il Gobbo. The accommodation was perfect, lots of space and everything that you could need.Elisa was the perfect hostess, replying promptly to all our queries and organising a chef for a birthday dinner, nothing was too much trouble.The setting was fabulous with great views and some spectacular sunsets sat out on the verandah.

Underbart hus och fantastisk värdinna

Huset är både mysigt men har ett modernt rymligt kök men allt som man kan önska sig. Vi var tre familjer som bodde is huset utan några bekymmer. Det gick lätt att umgås både i huset och på tomten.Huset har alla tänkbara bekvämligheter och ett underbart pool-område. Det fanns saker för barnen att aktivera sig med hela tiden och vi vuxna hade inga problem med att slappna av.Värdinnan var otroligt hjälpsam både före och under vistelsen. Hon gjorde att vistelsen blev ännu bättre med bra tips på saker att uppleva i omgivningen och snabb respons när något oförutsägbart dök upp.Svårt att få en bättre värdinna och husets läge med milsvidd utsikt gjorde semestern till årets höjdpunkt.Vi kan startkt rekommendera detta boende till andra och återkommer gärna själva.

Outstanding villa in a perfect location in Tuscany

We had a fabulous time in this luxurious villa. The property is huge giving each family member their own space to relax. The bedrooms were spacious with very comfortable mattresses and plenty of bathrooms. Each room had an incredible view of the Tuscany countryside. The villa is surrounded by a vineyard and olive trees with the relaxing sound of birds every morning. The kitchen has just been renovated and has all of the utensils you need to feed a large family. The swimming pool is large and was the perfect temperature for swimming / playing. The jacuzzi is beautifully situated under a vine with a wonderful view to relax in the evenings. Pisa, Lucca and Florence are a short car journey away to visit. There are over 50 vineyards and villa’s to visit close by. I would recommend a trip up the mountain as the views of Tuscany are spectacular. A large super market is only 10minutes away (Esselunga). The owner (Elisa) was so friendly and helpful. She was easily contactable and very eager to ensure we had a good time. We had the pleasure to enjoy the olive oil, jam and wine made on the property. They were outstanding. We are most grateful to Elisa and we definitely visit again in the future. This villa is perfectly situated to explore Tuscany and would highly recommend.

Peaceful and lots of space

We loved Il Gobbo! We spent 3 weeks at house with 2 other couples, which was perfect. We all had our own part of the house. They have lots of beautiful dishes, glasses for an elegant dinner at large dining room. Elisa was so helpful with information about house, area and gave us great places to go visit. She set up tour of where they press the olives. We had a simple problem with dryer, and it was fixed same day. The outdoor area is great, I loved having my coffee at 16-foot outdoor table, looking at the beautiful view of Lucca. They helped setup chef to cook at house several times. The pool was a little cold to get into but after a few laps it was refreshing. Next time we go it will be with all our children and grandkids. Thank you, Loretta, Mario and Elisa,

What a fantastic property

From the minute Elisa contacted us with directions until we left she could not have been more helpful - we loved the house, everything had been considered and we were all so impressed - the views are amazing, the pool is great, the kitchen so well stocked with every utensil you could need. The electric lawnmower gave us a surprise on the first night but we grew to like watching him do his rounds! My only reservation is letting anyone else know how fantastic this property is and not being able to book again! Thank you Elisa - we had a great holiday.

Fantastic farmhouse in the Tuscan hills

We stayed for 10 days with extended family. Gorgeous views, wonderful modern kitchen, private saltwater pool, wonderful amenities for family vacations. A pool, a soccer field, swings, a small playhouse for kids and a lawnmower robot that kept the grass down. Best of all, there was AC in every bedroom since it was extremely hot. Highly recommend the place.

Wonderful 3 generation family holiday

Elisa was a very welcoming and helpful host. Non intrusive but available if needed. The highlights of Il Gobbo for our family group of 10 were the fabulous swimming pool with hot tub jacuzzi and the very large modern kitchen. The remainder of the house is traditional which we like. There are good restaurants and pizza places nearby and the bar in the village a short walk away makes you welcome.

We really enjoyed staying at this property after being in the hectic environments of Rome and Naples. RELAX and Enjoy to countryside and vistas from this well furnished escape. Dream come true in Tuscany

We had the most amazing dream come true vacation at this beautiful villa! The Villa is absolutely gorgeous, spacious, clean, and charming. We were a group of 8 adults and 2 kids. Everyone was thrilled with it. Elisa was wonderful and so helpful. She organized a chefs dinner for us and massages at the Villa. They were both phenomenal. Our only complaint was that we did not have long enough there and didn’t want to leave! We can’t wait to go back and the olive oil is also delicious!

Alla grande!!

Abbiamo passato qualche giorno ospiti de “il Gobbo” per festeggiare Capodanno, eravamo un gruppo di 4 famiglie con bimbi tra i 7 e i 10 anni. È andato tutto benissimo!! Elisa (figlia della proprietaria) gentilissima e disponibilissima!! Casa immensa e dotata di ogni confort, compresa piscina idromassaggio riscaldata per 4/5 persone vicino alla piscina (fatto bagno anche nella piscina fredda!!), attrezzature per la cucina disponibili in quantità, idem per asciugamani, coperte, lenzuola e cuscini!! Spazio cucina molto ampio e confortevole. Fantastico camino con lunga tavolata per i giochi da tavolo e angolo divani molto sfruttato dai bambini!! Stupendo poi tutto lo spazio all’esterno, poco sfruttato a causa del tempo, ma ci torneremo sicuramente d’estate per sfruttarlo!!

Ruime, mooi gelegen vakantiewoning

Een ruim opgezette en goed uitgeruste vakantiewoning met een prachtige, nieuwe keuken die van alle gemakken is voorzien. Gelegen op een groot perceel met een mooi uitzicht op het dal en omliggende bergen. In het zwembad en de jacuzzi is het heerlijk ontspannen. Bij dit alles werden we enthousiast ontvangen door Elisa.

I love this place!

Always sceptical about pictures on a website but on arrival the villa proved itself and more so. Amazing new kitchen, close to the outside dining table. The pool is fab and the jacuzzi, which of course we never said we’d use, was lovely, with a view to die for. All the bedrooms were fantastic, bathrooms too and the air con a god send at times. The decor is traditional (which we liked) and the lovely new kitchen is a great addition. Well stocked with all you could need. The owners always replied quickly to any questions and were helpful with questions about the local areas. Would I go again? 100%! Make sure you buy their olive oil, wine and, if you like onions, they’re chutney too…

Fantastisk familie ferie

Vi var afsted 12 personer, bedsteforældre, børn, svigerbørn og børnebørn. Vi havde en helt fantastisk uge sammen i Capannorri. Alle nød opholdet og der var aktivitet fra morgen til aften trods det meget varme vejr. Poolen blev brugt mange timer hver dag. Huset var skønt og ligeledes omgivelserne og udsigten derfra. Vores vært Elisa var bare skøn, et fantastisk humør og meget hjælpsom med alt, stor ros til hende fra os alle. Vi kunne sagtens finde på at besøge stedet igen. 14 of us stayed here and the property and house exceeded our expectations. There is a new spacious kitchen, everyone had a bed, the bedrooms were air conditioned, and the pool and jacuzzi were a life saver in the heat! Wonderful

We had a wonderful experience in this fabulous home. Our stay exceeded all of our expectations. Our children loved the pool, hot tub, and the farm animals (horse, donkey, pony, ducks and chickens). Bedrooms and bathrooms were plentiful and comfortable for our group of 10. The pool is amazing with a salt water system and lots of lounges for sunbathing. The peace and quiet of the grounds allow you to hear the songbirds singing all day. The brand new air conditioned kitchen has everything we needed. It's huge, modern and has a large, comfortable table with seating for at least 12 people. We truly enjoyed cooking all together in this excellent space. Our hostesses, Elisa and Loretta, were gracious and very helpful. We arrived without food. Elisa drove two of us to the supermarket to shop for supplies on the evening we arrived so that we would have enough food for our entire stay. Overall, this is an exceptional vacation experience for larger groups and gets a five star rating from our family!!!

Tolles Haus - würden nochmals kommen

Wir können das Ferienhaus bestens empfehlen! Traditionelles Haus mit grandiosem Blick auf die Talebene von Lucca und schönem, großen Pool. Die sehr nette Vermieterin hilft bei allen Fragen und die ganze Organisation unseres Aufenthalts war ebenfalls ganz unkompliziert. Die Kinder freuten sich über die Tiere auf (Schildkröten) bzw. neben dem Grundstück (Maultier, Esel, Schwein…). Wenn wir nochmal in der Gegend Urlaub machen, werden wir dieses Haus definitiv wieder in die engere Wahl mit aufnehmen.

Toller Ort!

Herzlichen Dank an die Gastgeber-Familie. Wir haben den Aufenthalt in vollen Zügen genossen. Pool und Whirl-Pool waren grossartig. Sehr grosszügig mit Badetüchern ausgestattet und äusserst bequeme Liegestühle. Die Lage ist hervorragend und es gibt gute Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und Restaurants in der Nähe. Die ganze Anlage würde sich speziell für Familien mit Kindern eignen. WiFi am Pool wäre wünschenswert.
