Looking for a quiet Guadalupe Riverfront home, away from all the crowds yet close to all the action? Then you've come to the right place! Maricopa River Resort is located on a quiet area of the Guadalupe, just before the 'Horseshoe' a popular area for tubing and rafting. Jump in a tube or your raft of choice directly from the backyard and float the Horseshoe, a scenic stretch of the river which conveniently doubles back and puts you conveniently close to where you began (requiring a short walk back to the home). Whitewater Amphitheater is also at the end of this section of river, only 1/2 mile from Maricopa River Resort. You'll love all there is to do in the area, but will truly enjoy the home as well. Maricopa sleeps a maximum of 8 guest between its 4 spacious bedrooms, and also has 3 full bathrooms. There is plenty of room to lounge and relax in the open-concept living, dining, and fully-equipped kitchen, but you're sure to spend most of your time away in the beautiful back yard, with covered seating, large shade trees, and a barbecue grill available for guest use. The host was responsive and helpful. I am taking a star off because the amenities in the house were basic. CA 13 avr. 2024 Points forts : Propreté #### mixed feelings The positives are that the rooms and house itself was sizable and relatively comfortable for groups of up to 8\. The kitchen and baths were clean. The view of the river from the deck was very nice. Although there is a hotel next door we never heard any noise or saw more than a few people there (a lot of highway noise though, all day). Nice that there was a laundry room. The negatives are that there were only 3 hand towels in the whole house. Prepare to share! And the mattresses sag in the middle, especially the twin beds. Finally, the large fry pan is warped, and the surface is flaking off. Definitely does not work on the solid surface stovetop. When I asked for more towels (one per person at least) the management company said thanks for the suggestion, so they respond quickly but not the answer you want. ##### Mary B. We had 8 people including 4 children under 10 stay for a weekend and the house was great. The kids loved the riverfront access and the backyard. The home is lovely, open, spacious and clean. The property is nice, and we love being close to the Guadalupe, but the home is very close to 306, and the road noise was annoying. A couple other things we didn't care for we uncomfortable beds. Mattress toppers would be very helpful. The kitchen is nice, but the cookware is in very rough shape. The frying pans, in particular, made cooking frustrating. Lastly, the water pressure is very low, and there was no hot water in the kitchen. We tried adjusting the valves under the sink but could not get hot water to run. If these minor things could be addressed, I would recommend it to others, but for the cost of the stay, we had higher expectations of comfort. ##### Kristi V. Direct access to river next to bridge at the beginning of the horseshoe. Able to get rides back to house via Shanty Rides. Simple and easy check in A+++. Mattresses need to be replaced due to squeaking and worn out. Need more pillow cases and new pillows. Needs more towels. Needs more basic silverware (knives, spoons, forks). No hot water or water pressure in the kitchen to do dishes, the dishes themselves need to be thrown out and replaced and that goes for the minimum amount of pots and pans. The fridge didn’t keep anything cold but in certain areas would freeze other items. The stove doesn’t cook food properly, probably due to the age of it. AC thermostat was hard to work. Shower heads in all the bathrooms need to be replaced. The spot on the river was perfect and the access was great which made up for the minor things with the house. Check out was early and even check in seemed late. But we know for next time to bring our own pots, pans, and cooking utensils as well as cleaning supplies. Would definitely stay here again just feel for the money some small minor upgrades need to be done to make it perfect. ##### Ashley B. Unfortunately, our experience with this management company has been terrible. The day our vacation was to start I received a voicemail stating the ac was no longer working at the property we rented, Wendy assured me in the voicemail it was getting repaired but wouldn't be until anytime between 5-7pm. Our check-in time is 2pm so they offered me money to go have dinner and wait while the home cooled off. Not a problem...This was all through voicemail. I called back Vacay Hill country and the person I spoke with was very nice and assured me the ac would get repaired and also confirmed they were refunding me $200 for dinner. I never received this. However, this isn't the worst thing. Once we arrived at about 7:30 in the evening to drop off our things before going to dinner, there was no ac and no contractors working at the home either. At this point someone from the management company should have reached out to me to update what was going on. I called and of course I had to speak with the afterhours answering service who could only tell me the ac was supposed to be getting repaired between 5-7, mind you it was already after 7pm. FINALLY after going back and forth with the answering service and demanding I get an actual answer and not a blanket excuse they were able to tell me that the ac needed a specific part and was not getting repaired until Monday. The children played in the large backyard as the weather was very nice. We enjoyed fishing and watching the fly fishers catching rainbow trout. We even caught a few. The communication with the owner was great and always got quick responses. The house was so cute and had a great view of the river! The pictures online were spot on. I would highly recommend this property for your river trip. The location was perfect with stores/gas just a short walk away. Sitting just north where tubers are dropped off, you are not right in the middle of the chaos. But you can watch it unfold all day long if you wish in your own spacious shoreline. Since you can get in the river from the backyard we floated numerous times! Beautiful backyard and nice patio. Sleeps 8 which was perfect for us! We recently spent the weekend here for a Friday and Saturday night concert doubleheader. Steps to the Guadalupe, and a 10-15 minute walk to Whitewater amphitheater. 10 minute drive to Gruene, 15 to New Braunfels. The river was running very low which made for tough fishing but it didn’t stop the tubers! It was perfect for us to lay in and cool off. We all loved it and will have this property in mind for the future. ##### Jeff W. Front/back porch needed to be swept, therefore leaves, etc. were dragged in. Supplies such as bath towels, dishrags, kitchen towels, pots/pans & spices were lacking. Also, the parking situation is unreasonable. The house sleeps 8, but only allows 3 cars (4 with special permission). This makes no sense & places a burden on tenants, particularly older tenants such as we are. Overall, however, it is a beautiful home & property and we had a lovely time. ##### Colma C. We had a girls weekend to celebrate my 65th birthday and it was wonderful! Weather was perfect and the deck and backyard were great places to hang out and enjoy margaritas. The house has a good floor plan and the 6 of us were very comfortable. Just a few nitpicky details: there was coffee but no sugar, the toaster doesn't work, there are no hangers in the closets, and those black iron chairs are so uncomfortable.
