A local from the area, she offered many helpful hints that made our stay more enjoyable and gave us a personalized vacation. It was like having our own personal concierge! The view from the backyard was lovely. We spent our evenings watching the sunset color the canyon sky and being entertained by the wildlife. The house is just down the road from Palo Duro State Park. We bought a park pass ( as recommended by the host) and were able to go in and out of the park at our convenience. The state park was amazing and we had a blast. Only complaint was I wish we had more time there. No one wanted to leave. Beverly is a wonderful host. Greeted us with guacamole and margaritas! Home is comfortable, stocked with whatever you may need, and nicely decorated. We enjoyed visiting barbary sheep and birds - very peaceful. Enjoyed the Texas musical, canyon jeep tour, and Midpoint Cafe on route 66\. Honey buzz winery was great too. Her home is lovely with every amenity and tastefully decorated. The aoudads come right up on her driveway and let us hand feed them - such a neat experience. Palo Duro Canyon State Park is minutes away with easy trail access. We did a lot of cooking at home and had a few meals at Sad Monkey. A great home and experience. ##### kathy g. Beverly went above and beyond! From the spicy margaritas to the homemade guacamole delicious!! Kids had had a blast riding bicycles, pickle ball (for the first time) to cornhole! Nacona Lodge is the perfect place to do that. The kitchen os stocked with anything a visiting group might need. The beds are extremely comfortable. Everything works. But the best part is that the hosts are the BEST hosts you could ever want. We had plenty of information to enjoy the area and we had hosts who wanted our stay to be the best. The backyard opens up to the canyon providing incredible views. The home itself is very well appointed and is stocked with all the essentials. The location is ideal, only minutes from Palo Duro Canyon State Park and 25 minutes from Amarillo. The host is friendly, knowledgeable and truly cares about helping you make the most out of your stay. Couldn't ask for more! We'll be back! ##### Russell H. The owner met us with margaritas at check-in and provided us with many delicious treats which we enjoyed throughout our stay. The home was minutes from Palo Duro Canyon which hosted a full schedule of children's programs the week before Christmas. Feeding the sheep and the many birds at Nocona Lodge was a highlight for the kids as well as riding bikes and playtime in the sand box. Beverly's hospitality was over the top. She gave us many great ideas for our time here and provided us a lovely, welcoming and cozy environment to explore the Canyon's offerings! We had a fabulous time! Happy Holidays Beverly! She was awesome at telling us everything we needed to know and then some. The house was incredibly comfortable and stocked with everything we could possibly need. We were less than 5 minutes from the park entry and enjoyed it tremendously. So beautiful! And I need to mention the views from the back porch were also stunning! We hit a bump in our trip when hurricane force winds and a severe dust storm knocked out power to the area and water to the house. Beverly was on top of things and stayed in communication with us. We sadly had to cut our trip short because of the storm that hit the panhandle, but we would love to come back! ##### Zofia L. Loved, loved, loved the house. Location is just 5 minutes from Palo Duro Canyon State Park. The home is decorated in southwest style, was very comfy and very well-stocked. We were even allowed to park in the garage. The highlight was the Aoudad Sheep that came to visit each day. Well, they really came to be fed, but that was part of the fun. Our host was exceptional. She met us at the property, showed us around and even served us margaritas, guacamole and chips. She went over and above any host I have ever had. ##### Lesley B. Beverly and Phillip are amazing hosts. Their home is beautiful and comfortable set in the stunning scenery of the canyonlands of the Texas panhandle complete with jaw-dropping sunrises and sunsets. (If you visit, you will understand that these adjectives are appropriate!) We are into food and the kitchen is the most well-equipped of any we have used. The home is so well located: 5 minutes from Paloduro Duro State Park, close to Canyon with the all-encompassing Plains Panhandle Museum, 1.5 hours from Caprock Canyons State Park and a mile-long host list of other activities we could not fit in. We had a fantastic spring break staying at Nocona lodge. Beverly is a really thoughtful host and so sweet! She really takes pride in making sure you have a comfortable and cozy stay. The house is well stocked, really nice kitchen and appliances, everything you need! All the fun Texas and historical coffee table literature was interesting to read. The wild life out back was the highlight of the trip for our 3 boys! They got to feed deer, Aoudad’s and saw a coyote too! Kid’s enjoyed playing pickleball. The view of the canyon was beautiful. Really short drive to the State Park and Sad Monkey Mercantile is right at the entrance to the neighborhood has great pizza. Highly recommended booking Nocona Lodge! ##### Laura L. She really went above and beyond to provide not only everything we needed, but extra touches. She made fresh guacamole, left wine, cookies, snacks and plenty of firewood, starter kits, etc. She was there to greet us and spent an hour showing our team where everything was. Beverly was responsive to any questions we had during our stay. There were SO many extras with this unit including games in the garage, a smoker and of course the pickleball court was over the top!
