It is very quite, surrounded by fruit trees orchards and farm fields. Despite arriving later than expected, Steve was present to welcome us and brief us on the house an surroundings. The cottage is in good condition, especially the kitchen and bathroom that look almost new. The kitchen is very well equipped. We even had the pleasant surprise of finding fresh milk, local apple juice and cross buns which were great for our first breakfast. Tina and Steve provided us with a travel cot bed, high chair and baby bath for our son. This was very helpful and we didn’t need to bring ours for the long weekend. They are many toys, games and books available to borrow in the laundry room, and for all ages. Even for adults with a badminton set. And lots of space outside to play. The colourful fishes in the pond (protected by a fence so safe for children) are huge and very feisty and noisy when eating and we enjoyed watching them. It is a very good base to explore the area with so many places to visit within a 30 minutes drive (Canterbury, Broadstairs etc…). Cottages are very nice and comfortable and perfect for a relaxing quiet stay. We had our two dogs with us as well (2 of the 4 cottages on site are dog friendly). There are two friendly donkeys on the farm; if you ask the owner then they will supply you with some carrots to feed them. Location is a short drive to Canterbury, Dover, Sandwich and some nice pubs/restaurants in the nearby villages of Ash and Wingham, so is a very good spot if you want a quiet base from which to explore the area. ##### Adam Stayed 4 nights in Apr 2023 Verified ### 8/10 Good #### Kit Aug 18, 2022 Liked: Cleanliness, property conditions & facilities, communication Lovely little cottages on a farm with plenty of privacy. Donkeys, playground, and plenty of toys/DVDs for family entertainment. Friendly hosts and fun quirky details around the area. Lots of parking and easy to find. We stayed in Foxglove Cottage which is advertised here as "Traditional Cottage, 2 Bedrooms, Garden View, Ground Floor" - they're small windows so a bit dark but it was a super hot week so actually nice and cool. Good facilities in the cottages. Cottages have outside spaces - if you're in Foxglove like we were this is a bit seperate from the cottage which did reduce how much we used it for dinner etc but nice to have still. Location wise the farm is right on the NC1 cycleway which is epic. Lots of key locations in Kent are an easy drive away (you WILL need a car) including Sandwich, Canterbury, Margate, Dover etc. The local village of Ash has basic groceries etc and there's options for delivery on Uber Eats and Just Eat which was a pleasant surprise for a nice countryside location. The beds were very comfortable. We loved being in the heart of the country but if you had a bad sense of direction you might need to use satnav. Clean, new beds with comfortable bedding- the duvet kept is toasty warm on some very wet & cold nights. Well furnished kitchen and comfortable, clean bathroom with excellent water pressure. The ability to do laundry when so very far from home was fabulous! It makes traveling light so much nicer when you know you can easily clean your clothes. Lovely twisty-roads country location definitely requires a GPS (or a very good map) to find, but that was half the adventure. The grounds were lush & lovely even in wet December. I loved seeing the donkeys first thing in the morning. We come to the area to visit family, so we will most definitely be back. I love that we have finally found a cottage we love and for the next trip we won't have to struggle finding a place to stay - we will be sure to book well in advance. ##### Mary S.
