As you arrive at the Watergarden Hotel in Candidasa, it is quite deceiving as the front reception is simple, and small. But what a wonderful treat - as we were lead to our rooms, up a very clean and tidy path through lush gardens, we were very pleased to see our room. Set in a very lush tropical setting, the room was lovely, nice and cool, and we had the joy of spending quite a lot of time relaxing on our verandah feeding out koi. It felt like that we were away from the world, so peaceful.
Staff were wonderful, especially the Orchid Day Spa, where I went every day for a massage and to be pampered and spoilt. Great place to unwind. The Manager there is lovely, and we could not find fault with anyone there, and the prices were excellent.
Staff were always happy and greeted you with a smile, and the meals in the restaurant were great, plenty of variety and staff were very happy to order off the menu as well. They were able to help us with booking a driver to see the sights of East Bali as well as book in a fishing trip in a traditional Balinese boat.
We visited in November in the low season, and had absolutely perfect weather the entire time. Now looking at when we can return.
My husband and I stayed at Sea Breeze for 17 nights and we would thoroughly recommend this idyllic place to anyone wanting to escape for a quiet, relaxing and restorative break. The option is there for you to do as much or as little as you like - and completely at your own pace. The beachfront setting is perfect, the staff are an absolute delight, and the accommodation was spotlessly clean and so very comfortable. We wish we were still there...
Situated right on the beach, Bali Shangrila Beach Club is a perfect getaway destination. It is one of only a few resorts left in Candidasa that has its own white sand beach with a coral reef teaming with fish about 30 metres off shore that provides some of the best snorkelling in Bali. No need to go to Blue Lagoon or Amed. It's all right here and only a 5 minute walk into the main street. Candidasa has great restaurants. I highly recommend Vincent and La Rouge as well as the Crazy Kangaroo and a burger with Gary at No Nasi Goreng is a necessity. The best burger I've had outside Andrews in Melbourne. Candidasa also has a large expat population and they are all wonderful people.
I only stayed two days - but the room was big and spacious; bed was comfy; bathroom was clean. If you have stayed in older places in Bali before - you know this style. Its a shame they are all being phased out for little pokey roomed places....
This place has been recently taken over, and is set to be demolished. It needs a little bit of TLC, but I thoroughly enjoyed my stay...and would happily stay there again.
"Tranquility, cuisine and fun programs - the best."
If you need to have the total package of a culinary experience, water sports, tours and resort life...this is your place. I enjoyed the stress free pampering of a well trained staff and nice facilities.
Located on the beachfront in East Bali, the hotel offers enjoy terrain and scenery that ranges from the flat, sandy coast, to …More
We stayed here for 8 nights in October 2015 and had a fantastic stay. The hotel is great as well as the very friendly and accomodating staff. We were in room 319 and thought the room was really good. The bed is comfortable and the netting around the bed was pretty cool and a nice touch. The bathroom was a bit dated and could do with a revamp, but other than that it was a very nice room.
The restaurant is very good and we had breakfast there most mornings, as well as a few other meals. Its nice to be able to sit outside for sunset for a meal or a drink.
The pool area is nice and the pool attendants do a wonderful job. My only criticism regarding the pool is its temperature. The pool is very warm and not that refreshing. Was better first thing in the morning, however by the afternoon its like getting into a bath.
Overall we had a very pleasant stay. The hotel is very nice with beautiful gardens. Would certainly stay here again.
A haven of quiet relaxation, the fishing village of Candi Dasa on Amuk Bay is the antitheses of frenetic Kuta to the southwest. With a rocky coastline, most swimming is confined to resort pools, although some of Bali’s best diving and snorkelling is found in this area. Candi Dasa is also a great base from which to explore the historical and cultural sights of the east, including the pre-Hindu village of Tenganan, the sacred baths of Tirtagangga, and Bali's mother temple, Pura Besakih.
