This property was good but at the same time bad. Good: -Great area to take public transportation -Great view of the ocean -Food was good -Felt like a clean hotel Bad: -Checkin was bad (takes way too long and no rundown of the amenities) -Bar service was worse I've seen. Getting a drink was a battle even after tipping generously -Activities during the day were too few. So felt bored

Nice location to spend a few days away. Everyone was kind, attentive, and very respectful. The a MĂ©xico Lindo restaurante was amazing...try the coconut ice cream it was amazing. Stephany was awesome as well. Only one thing to share would be get up extra early and claim a beach or pool seat. People wake up and place towels on chairs and then you won't have anywhere to be. It's pretty full by 7 am. Restaurants had many varieties of food and snacks. Overall it was a pretty good stay!

Food was delicious- drinks were very good when you could get one. Bar and dining staff are over worked. Beach is small but lovely view of the waterway. Room was adequate but nothing special. Entertainment was fair Would like to see live music added daily.

We stayed for 4 nights for a girls trip and overall, we had a great experience. There were only a few negatives during the experience, but they weren’t so bad that I wouldn’t stay here again! The good things: the resort and the room were very clean. There were always staff members cleaning the pool, picking up used cups, cleaning up puddles around the pool deck, cleaning the floors, etc. The bathrooms even around the pool and in the lobby were very clean and I saw staff in there several times cleaning and restocking. The rooms had tile floors rather than carpet which I loved! I didn’t have to worry about dirt or mildew from it being wet. Cleaning staff swept our floors daily which helped with the sand. The seafood restaurant was incredible and our waiter was awesome and so much fun. Even the buffet had delicious food! Most of the staff was super friendly and their English was pretty good as well! They always had activities around the pool and nightly shows or karaoke. The ferry to Isla Mujeres is also right next door! The only negatives: we had two separate employees who weren’t the friendliest/had a little attitude. But overall, it was a wonderful stay and the staff was great! We would stay here again.

This property is so boring no music during the day, repeat shows and besides that bar closes at 11:00 pm after that nothing to do just sleep. This is unbelievable this hotel charges $1800 for nothing only one pool, restaurants impossible to made a reservation this hotel it’s the worse

The bars were not the quickest and having to wake up for reservations at 7 am was interesting but the food was not bad the Mexican restaurant and the buffet were my group's favorites. I am more of a night person but everything closed down at 11 pm.

Overall was a good experience. Loved the live music and other music but when doing the competitions or anything that involved the DJ
 they need to stop with the sound effects, it got really old really quickly. If you’re looking to just stay around the resort then this is a good place, if you are wanting to go out and adventure would chose closer to the downtown area.

Let me start by saying the staff is what makes this a great resort. Johana and Miguel in the lobby bar make the best drinks ever!! Carlos in the Albatross restaurant is the perfection of customer service by remembering drink orders, what extras you want from each visit and made our daily visits a wonderful experience. The food on the buffet was almost always cold, regardless the time of day. Our favorite was the omelettes made to order, fantastic!! Oddly, for reservations you have to line up the day off to schedule, I’ve never been to a resort that handles the specialty restaurants like this and doesn’t make sense to me. It’s a smaller resort but it’s clean and comfortable.my biggest complaint was the pool bar service didn’t start until 2 pm and this was a huge disappointment. I also miss having a swim up bar. I got a relaxing vacation but will not return, as it’s just not a great option for optimizing relaxation with the extra touches one wants in Mexico.

OCCIDENTAL Costa Cancun I feel compelled to write this review, as I am very sad for my family. This vacation was to be a healing and grieving time that turned to a nightmare. Day 1 The check in process was extremely slow, but I was fine with it because it was the middle of the day. I was asked to leave my luggage in lobby, only for it to be left unattended and my Gucci sunglasses stolen. As I attempted to enjoy the day on the resort, I headed toward the beach. Their beach is a giant rock on a dock with sand on it. Large ferries and ships are right there. So we decided we would shower and go to dinner...NO HOT WATER and the TOILET BROKEN. After being passed off to different managers, my room was switched (DOWNGRADED from my original reservation) and guess what...no hot water. At this point I wanted to cry, because i figured this was the getaway my family needed, but were made fools of. Day 3 THIRD ROOM back to the original reservation with no hot shower and NO AC. So I am tired of complaining and they really don't care If you plan on staying at this hotel there a few things to note Top everything off, they had the staff cleaning and cementing the pool, while the guest played lounged and played volleyball. The staff wore street clothes and walked in the pool most of the afternoon. There were too many things to list here. The only thing nice there were the guest. DO NOT STAY HERE

The resort is a beautiful, smaller resort. The staff were very friendly. The beach pictures are not updated, there are sandbags holding sand back because of boat traffic going in and out the lagoon which is next to the resort. The beach is very little and rocking. If you book with Expedia, the resort gives you very limited reservations time slots for the restaurants at dinner time 5:30 or 9:00 or 10:00pm, regardless if you wait in line at 6:30am to make reservation. Otherwise they will try talking you into becoming a Barcelo member for the extra benefits by having breakfast at another Barcelo resort.

Buena experiencia en este hotel, excelente para pasar unos dĂ­as relajados en la playa, piscina, comiendo rico y tomando bebidas ilimitadas. No es tan grande ni tiene tantas actividades, por lo que si vas en busca de mucho entretenimiento y cosas por hacer quizĂĄs no cumpla tus expectativas. Pero, el ambiente es muy bueno, tranquilo y a la vez divertido si vas con amigos o haces nuevos ahĂ­. En nuestro caso fuimos en pareja y querĂ­amos pasar unos dĂ­as de descanso y relax en la playa, el hotel es perfecto para eso. HabitaciĂłn y baño muy cĂłmodos. El Ășnico pero que le pondrĂ­a es que en la habitaciĂłn se escucha claramente lo que pasa en los pasillos y cuando mueven muebles de otras habitaciones. De ahĂ­, todo perfecto y muy tranquilo. La comida muy buena y bebidas tambiĂ©n.

The resort is an average quality destination: Positive comments: 1. Great food at every restaurant. I highly recommend booking a same day reservation for the Seafood restaurant. 2. Order you drinks from the Lobby bar (mixed professionally) and avoid the Beach bar. 3.The room mini bar is free and is stuffed with beer, soda, bottled water and snacks Negative comments: 1. All personnel are undertrained and lack customer service and communication skills 2. Bring you sunscreen – the lobby store is selling it for $53 USD and it will be confiscated by the TSA if you leave it in you carry-on 3. Never stay in room 224: on top of the lobby bar and right next to the “Snack room”, you’ll be “bombarded” with 24 hours of non-stop loud noise 4. Disconnect the cable from the phone in the room: every day at 8:00 am, the “time-share” lobby personnel will call you to sell their business 5. The front desk agents will come banging on your door and ask you to leave because they don’t know who is staying in the room 6. The beach waterfront is the size of a basketball field – very small, rocky and surrounded with seaweed

Check in on March 15, 2024 check out March 18, 2024. Family trip to celebrate life! Hotel really impressed me first time in Cancun, very clean, super safe, hotel staff is Amazingly attentive. It's an all inclusive hotel but, they made us feel celebrities in everywhere es went. Shout out to the animation crew Giselle, Shey, Polo and Amado they were truly awesome and dedicated to what they do. Entertaining all quests. Another shout out to Mexican Restaurant crew Brisa, Fredy and Alma great staff, attentive, a and food was incredibly exquisite. Lastly but not least from the pool bar Sandra which I nick name her "piernitas", she was stellar never left our glasses to empty and made sure we had enough Tequila!!!! Love the Hotel if I could rate 10 I would. Oh..... by the way snack bar cortadito cafe was to die for delicious. If you reading this review what are you waiting for to book your trip, horalĂš.....

The hotel was so fun and has so many activities throughout the day and night to keep the guests entertained. The rooms are in need of an upgrade and there isn’t much storage. I did NOT like the fact that the hotel staff permit its guests to reserve lounge chairs by the beach and the pool at 6 AM and then they don’t return until about 3 to 4 hours later. It should be on a first come first serve basis, and this could easily be resolved by when the staff sees towels sitting out on the chairs at 6 AM that they remove them or place a sign that says “please do not reserve lounge chairs if you are not present.” I noticed so many hotel guests upset over this.

Lots to know about staying here! The good: LOADS of activities, you cannot get bored. Service at both bars was always excellent. Food available 24/7 and the variety changes. Super clean, everything works, very secure. Housekeeping was impeccable. All staff worked incredibly hard to make everyone’s stay perfect. Across the street is the bus, more food, and pharmacy. Booking Coco Bongo at the tour desk was better than booking separately (same price too). The bad: Parties go on until after midnight so don’t expect rest if you’re not an unconscious sleeper. We were fine with it but not all families would be. You have to be in the lobby at 7am to get reservations to any of the nice restaurants (Mexico Lindo is the BEST). Every pool bed (about 200) is “towel saved” all day everyday with only about 30 of them ever actually being used. Feel free to a move towel and use a pool bed! Booking through the on-site Aquaworld rep was quoted $400 more than booking the same thing on my own. They tried to pass off a pool view room as the oceanview we paid for but gave us the correct room the next day so we were pleased.

Resort itself and the food was excellent. All the staff with the exception of the front desk staff were super friendly and really excellent. I was surprised that the front desk staff could not speak English very well considering that the majority of the people staying there were English speaking. Our friends had to change rooms and accidentally left a phone charger in the room and it took 2 days and multiple tries to get the charger back. The gift store was outrageously expensive. Wanted $68 us dollars for a bottle of sunscreen!

Fantastic staff, excellent food and a lovely Beach area. The beach area is a bit small but served its purpose. Pool area is very nice but we made the mistake of going during spring break and it was very noisy with young people hooting and hollering. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here!
