The host is so lovely and helpful, but is not at all intrusive. The view of the ocean is wonderful and it is fun to watch the boats going to and from the harbor. There is a family of eagles that make regular appearances. The kitchen has all the equipment you might need, coffee maker, blender, even a springform pan! Magdalen was a wonderful hostess, and went above & beyond to help us book a whale watching tour with East Quoddy Tours (which was a great outing! saw many whales, porpoises & seals). The cottage was very comfortable for the 3 of us. This rental had everything that anyone would need. There is a gorgeous view to the East. The lighthouse is 0.5 miles up the road. The unit was clean and well-kept and stocked with everything we needed. We enjoyed relaxing on the porch and admiring the view, taking our dog to the beach, walking to the lighthouse, and exploring the island. Comfy two days of hanging with a friend, visiting the Rooseveldt "cottage" for the tour and "tea with Eleanor", walking the 1/2 mile to the very scenic lighthouse, poking around on foot and by car seeing the TALL docks to accommodate the tides, eating on the deck and talking about our husbands and families, far away.
