It was golf, great food from the Blue Heron and a ferry trip for more golf on Lopez Island. It was great to get away but still have the comforts of home. We were a little uneasy about traveling during COVID times, but we felt very safe. We have to be sticklers for clean surroundings due to immunosuppression, and this is, hands down, the cleanest place we've ever stayed. The beds were super comfy, the book selection fantastic, and the porch perfect for a morning cup of tea. We hope to return one day with our older teen who loves bird watching, and this place is perfect for that. Marla was terrific to work with, accessible and notified us when the Arlene was ready 3 hours early for check in! Yeah! Beautifully restored, kitchen fully equipped, and a gorgeous holiday flower arrangement greeted us to create a celebratory Christmas feel! Clear instructions, good WIFI, and nice neighbors too! Easy access from side entrance, about 7 stairs with hand rails on both sides to enter, no problem for my 82 year old mom. Walk in shower. Comfortable and cozy living room with real fireplace and a Duraflame log to get you started! Highly recommend if you are on Camano, could not have been an easier or more comfortable stay! The Arlene was the perfect haven to recover from the family chaos. ;-) In all seriousness, there wasn't space for us to stay with family so it was great to have such a wonderful space to retreat to at the end of the day. Incredibly quiet, beautifully decorated, fully equipped. And wow, the croissants that we found waiting for us on our arrival were incredible. Such a welcome surprise treat!
