Hotel near Flames Game

Posted 7-Feb-2016
Pros: Location, cheap parking
Cons: Noise throughout the night
We chose this hotel because it is close to the Saddledome, and it was easy to get around and check in. There were loud voices during the night and cleaning / vacuuming started early, around 9 am.

Well Located

Posted 2-Feb-2016
Location: Location is easy walk to Performing Arts Center, Recreation, C Train and shopping resources.
This was my second stay at the Hotel Arts. The location is matchless for access to transport and ease of walking to various districts in the nearby city center. Staff was exceptional in every respect and really went out of their way to resolve issues, both major and minor.

Disappointing arrival

Posted 15-Jan-2016
Cons: Night manager's attitude
We arrived very late and were given a room very far away on the second floor (which included stairs), as we had a dog kennel, five suit cases we requested a different room, we were told that because we booked through Expedia, we were given the room that we were, but if we wanted to change, it would cost us $30 more. We asked for the name of the manager and walla, just like magic, we would given an upgraded room with no stairs to travel, Very disappointed in the attitude of the night manager, other wise it is a very nice hotel in downtown Calgary.

Nice but curt staff and rooms need maintenance.

Posted 27-Dec-2015
Nice hotel generally - bathroom flooded and it was remedied quickly but the staff seem unprepared and a bit curt. Hard to speculate but it seems like the staff would benefit from additional training Hotel was nice and clean and actual kurig cartridge coffee was a nice touch from the cheap bagged coffee that it common to most hotels. Room temperature controls were also finicky and wasn't super consistent. Again, a minor issue. All in all if you can get a good price this hotel is a pretty good deal. Location is close to both the saddledome/stampede grounds and a medium walk to 17th avenue or Stephen ave for great food.

My new Go-To Calgary hotel

This hotel was fantastic. The only thing I didn't like was the parking situation. It's very expensive. But everything else exceeded my expectations.
