Good Hotel close to downtown!!

Posted 28-Aug-2015
Pros: Location is good. Walking distance to BMO Centre where I had conference to attend.
Cons: Need to renovate the bathtub.
Location: BMO Centre is walking distance.
Excellent hotel with all the luxury. My room was renovated one. Good décor and nice comfort style. Bath tub was however older style and tiny and looks like not changed in renovation. Faucets in bath tub were really hard one and difficult. But overall room was quiet clean and comfortable.

Close to much of what Calgary has to offer

Posted 11-Aug-2015
Pros: Location near (but not right in) downtown Calgary; comfortable beds; helpful, friendly & knowledgeable staff.
Cons: Towels were worn and just average; expected a bit more plush. Pool is on display to the drinks/lounge crowd -- likely less used by families.
Location: Location near 4th Street SW is great; Reds Diner; shopping, 17th Ave SW variety, zoo (fairly close).
Rooms have very comfortable beds; staff are polite, friendly, knowledgeable (restaurant suggestions) and helpful. We required an additional bed, thought it would be a cot, but turned out to be a comfortable single bed. Hotel provided a small fridge upon request. Towels somewhat worn, but if you overlook that, Hotel Arts is worth a few nights because of location, comfortable beds and helpful staff.

It was just okay and not kid friendly

Posted 4-Aug-2015
I've been wanting to visit this hotel for years, so when my family and I decided to spend a weekend in Calgary this hotel was first on my list. Good things were the rooms and lobby was nice, we liked the style of the hotel also loved the peppermint conditioner & body cream. Negatives were the location was not great, lots of homeless nearby. The outdoor pool was a public pool and during the weekends it fills with locals therefore we weren't able to use it which was a bummer because my 3 year old would have enjoyed it. Water pressure is very poor and someone should clean the vents, they are filthy dirty. I can't say I will be back anytime soon and next time would prefer to spend less at a Best Western for the amount of time we spend in our rooms.

Thank you for taking the time to respond to our post-stay survey. I truly appreciate your feedback and would like to apologize for the fact that your experience was less than expected. There is no excuse for poor maintenance or cleanliness, and I assure you this will be addressed with the respective teams. As for our pool, our in-house guests do always take priority and are able to make reservations to ensure a space by the pool, however, the pool deck is shared with our restaurant, Raw Bar, and therefore gets busy quickly on a beautiful day. I apologize if this process was not explained, and I do want to ensure you do not look back with an entirely negative impression. I would love to welcome you back again to show you what Hotel Arts can offer, and again, please accept my apologies. Yours in Hospitality, Werna Maurer Director of Rooms

The Hotel Arts is a fantastic hotel. I can always count on a beautiful, clean room with an extremely comfortable bed. The staff is exceptionally friendly and always willing to help.

For an old hotel that has been renovated, it was very nice, modern and comfortable. The amenities were everything we needed. Also very nice toiletries. Beautiful lobby and very good restaurant ! Will definately stay here again if we can book at the very reasonable rate we were able to get it for.

Modern hotel perfect downtown location.

My only complaint is that the bed is too firm. I think a pillow top is needed. Woke up with a sore back. Also, the towels seemed more of a motel quality, as in not soft or plush.
