Loved the area, both restaurants on site & the pool!
Cons; beds were not comfortable at all & leather around the bottom of the bed frame was peeling and nasty looking.
Very comfortable and clean hotel located in the hear of downtown Calgary within walking distance of shopping centers and restaurants. Convenient self-parking that was INCLUDED in the rate of the hotel room. Room was spacious with a balcony - not great views as anticipated for being downtown but nice to get some fresh air. We had the breakfast buffet at their restaurant with fresh eggs cooked to order and a variety of pastries, cold-cuts, oatmeal, yoghurt parfaits, fruit, etc. Compared to other local breakfast places, it was reasonably priced at $21 for a hotel. Didn't get a chance to use their enclosed pool but it looked very inviting and had a high-end beach resort feel. Overall, very enjoyable stay.
Close to everything downtown.
Yellow Door restaurant had an AMAZING buffet breakfast (in hotel).
Staff was all awesome.
Will definately return. Thank you!
Negative: Hallways were in desperate nees if cleaning.
Besides the location, there was nothing to like about the property. The room was dirty, the sink was gross. The tub was old and rusty. The view was garbage. The duvet had disgusting brown stains all over it when we checked in. The bed was uncomfortable and the sheets were starchy but not in a good way. The pillows were undersized and so squished and over used. The counters hadn’t been dusted since the time change (obviously because the old time zone was still set on the clock and the dust was so thick) there was black curly hair on top of our bed when we checked in. (I’m a blonde). There’s no amenities in the room- no mini fridge or microwave or sitting space. Also we told them that it was our honeymoon and they gave us the absolute worst room AND! Charged us $100 PER NIGHT in advanced without warning.. on top of that; when we were trying to enjoy the out-of-room experience.. The indoor pool was cold. The restaurant menu is super limited and not allergy tolerant with very limited hours so we couldn’t even eat there to rate it. The bar staff was also super mundane and slow, and also unknowable about their own inventory. We saw things on the bar shelf that the sever said they didn’t have just because she admittedly “didn’t know what that was”. I’m extremely disappointed with this overall experience with the Arts because I’ve always chose this as my go-to hotel in Calgary and never have such a terrible time. But this one really changed my entire view on the place.
I like how housekeeping phoned my room to ask if there was anything they can bring up to the room for us. Like towels and a lot of coffee. Great service!
