Wow, I'm so sad you all were uncomfortable, that's the first I've ever heard that! I've tried to have a bed of every type; mattresses topped with memory foam, a feather bed, a pillow top, and a quilted mattress pad. I even offer pillows of every type, down pillows; some fluffy and some stuffed big, polyester fiber filled, foam filled, so everyone can pick and choose what they like. Try all the beds like Goldilocks! In the winter I have a wool blanket added to each bed for extra warmth. Sleeping comfy must be my favorite thing!

I'm sorry you felt my home was musty, I've been here 2 weeks and have not noticed and with the lovely weather I've had windows open often. I am aware the rock steps need repair, it is such a big project I've had to wait to tackle that until I can get some help. I'm not so strong as I used to be, I'm 69 now! those rocks are heavy! This is a country house in the woods so crickets have been appearing recently this fall, sometimes in the tub or sink. I actually always rescue them in a cup and take them outside. Again I'm sorry it disturbed you.

I'm sorry this guest didn't enjoy my home to the fullest, she did leave a lovely review in my guest book. I'm so glad that I finally did get to return to Lynnhaven 3 days after Fran's visit or I would have been really concerned about my home's condition. The house was a bit musty but MN has had extreme rains so the dampness would cause that without running the dehumidifiers. (I've instructed the housecleaner) I aired out and ran them and it's lovely again. Even so the super growing lawn was mowed nicely, the yard looked lush with brilliant red bee balm and woodland sunflowers blooming in the gardens. We do live in the forest and the deer have been feasting on my hostas. They look a little choppy. But watching the doe and her delicate spotted fawn prancing through the yard made it worth it! I looked for dust all over but couldn't find any and my bare feet loved the cool smooth clean floors. It was so restful and enchanting to me, truly "Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder."

Much to my dismay I have been unable to get back to my home since last Autumn and I would have taken care of these details. They are important to me! I am so sorry that an occasional bat or mouse visits my country home. This was my worst fear that a guest would receive such a visit! And now it happened! I continue to do everything I can to patch tiny holes that woodpeckers make and search for any possible entry. But this is life in the woods... As for AC, we prefer some natural methods. We built the house with deep eaves to keep the summer sun from shining in and built the house into the hill to keep it cool. If we keep the downstairs closed on hot days, it stays cool.
