Half a dozen dishwasher tablets rather than one! A bottle of washing up liquid rather than a sachet. They were all over the walls and floor. There were also insects coming up from the drains. They appeared to be roaches and small flies. Additionally, the smoke detector went off the entire first night. We did not sleep at all. We reported it to the office. They sprayed the room for the ants and fixed the smoke detector the next day. However we lost one entire night of sleep. They did not provide hair conditioner or shower gel. They provided small soaps that seemed old because they crumbled in my hand. We hadn't realised this was a second floor duplex, but simple and comfortable. No issues with room,cairns con in bedrooms. Staff were lovely and very helpful. However, it’s a two-storey unit, and reaching the central area of Cairns for dining and activities requires a walk of over 10 minutes. Easy walking to shops. Maybe have a map in unit for those late check ins as the map we got from reception after 3 days there was great.
