There is a long unpaved drive up to the cottage but we had no problem with this. Hendy is a very quirky and sweet house, the fireplace in the living room is very impressive and the stairs winding up are lovely. Some furniture is a little old/tired and the shower upstairs doesn't work so I used the annexe shower instead which was much better. The kitchen was well equipped with crockery and cookwear although no essentials provided food-wise so make sure you bring milk etc. It's roughly a 20 minute drive to the nearest big supermarket in Caernarvon and there is a well stocked shop in on the main street in Waunfawr. We did not realise until we arrived that electricity is paid for separately, I feel like this should be more clearly stated in the listing so we could budget for that too. We ended up paying £60+ in electricity for our stay which isn't extortionate but in my opinion should be factored in to the price of the stay. The cottage was very well placed for walks straight from your door, numerous footpaths go straight from the garden gate so we walked all around that area but hadn't had time to go to half the places we wanted to by time we left! We would love to come back to Hendy again to explore more. ##### layla L.
