We had a fantastic time staying at Hotel Puerto Sherry. We had a premium room with view of the marina which was beautiful no matter the time, day or night. Our room was large and spacious, with a wide bed, large balcony with space for 2 sun loungers and still space to walk around! The bathroom was in good condition, with a very comfy large bath. The hotel is equally well kept and spacious throughout. The breakfast selection was maybe a little limited but perfectly adequate and filled us up till dinner time! The pool (indoor and outdoor) were clean and well kept and we enjoyed relaxing there. The hotel is within the marina, providing excellent access to the boats. There are a handful of bars and restaurants around the marina but most things are a short taxi ride / walk away in Santa Maria.

The view from our balcony was exceptional because it looked over the Harbor which was full of sailboats. The balcony also had lounge chairs where we could sun if we chose. The town was unfinished and rough with several buildings left without having been completed. However, the hotel was very nice.

Fantastic location, fantastic room - had a huge terrace with sun loungers overlooking the marina. Overall the hotel could do with a little refresh, but nothing major. It was very quiet when we were there, early season and post lockdown. Only downside is its a little far from town and no buses.

Beautiful stopover location!
This was a 1 night stopover for our family of 4 (2 kids aged 5 and 1) on the way from Malaga to Seville and it gave us the opportunity to explore Cadiz as well in a proper way. Loved the Port area that this hotel is located in with great views of Marina. Really cute little village that this is based on and free parking on site which was another added advantage. Highly recommend staying here! We loved it!

Wonderful stay with a few things missing
Large airy and comfortable room with an excellent view over the harbour from the balcony. Very clean and the staff are really helpful. We will go again as the area is not commercialised Tips: Take a corkscrew, a bottle opener, cups and spoon. Rather strange they didn't have these basics in the room..........and nearly forgot, ask reception for a kettle.

Nice hotel but boring area
The hotel itself was good but it was a little out of the way and there wasn’t much to do around it. The weather was great but the pool was closed. The indoor pool should have been open at least.

Spacious rooms, friendly staff, just a bit dated.
My trip was made early in the season, I assume things will be tidier in the Summer.. as the first impression of the hotel is not so good, the windows needed cleaning, a couple of the blackout curtains that you can see are ripped and it just needs a bit of attention. The reception is very small and a little dated, with a pool table and bar area, the lifts are a bit clanky.. The standard rooms are big enough, but the superior rooms are huge, both very clean. The Seaview rooms feel even bigger as they have a large terrace with new furniture. The restaurant and bar area is on several levels and has a large terrace and Chillout area. The Breakfast had the usual options plus a few healthy additions, chia pudding and avocado bruschetta plus non dairy milk. Egg dishes were made to order. What made my stay was the very friendly staff who went out of their way to make my stay comfortable.

Nice room but no food or drink facilities during the afternoon and evenings. Reception staff on arrival very helpful and talked us into a room upgrade. Room very clean and spacious but hotel on the outside was a bit tired and dated. Fine for a short stay and lots to see and do close by with Cádiz and Jerez, car is a must!!

Functional Hotel For the Marina
If you visit out of season you will find little on offer here. Marinas are soulless places, even when busy, and this hotel only really cranks up for a few months of the year. If you are there at any other time it is probable because there isn't much alternative choice in the area.

Nice Clean room, comfortable bed
Very clean and modern accommodation. Friendly helpful staff. Great water pressure in showers with lots of hot water. It has a full beautiful restaurant - nautical theme. The hotel is right on the Marina and walkable to a few small restaurants. Around the hotel there were only two restaurants open when we were there in February and they were very reasonable. There was very little open at this time of year so it’s quiet. **IMPORTANT. This hotel is not really walkable to the ferry. It takes an hour to walk. ** You can drive and park for €1.50 at the municipal parking lot. When you buy your ticket from the Bahia ferry service ask for parking and they give you a card to get out of parking lot. The ferry cost to Cadiz was €3.00 each way.

Nice hotel away from it all.
Although Cadiz is about 30 minutes away, we found El Puerto de Santa Maria to be lovely. Open air shopping kiosks along the waterfront with lots of seafood restaurants.

The hotel was clean and the rooms spacious. The air con was ineffective and the whole hotel seemed to be rather weirdly designed and quite deserted. It was off season and things hadn't really got going I guess. We found the food in the evening to be good ( a la carte) but the breakfasts could have been better. The cooked breakfast was poor quality and cold but the continental was fine. There was building work going on but it wasn't too noisy.

One night was enough
This hotel was unable to provide any soft drinks, water etc. There are no vending machines, no shops, nothing. Be prepared and bring supplies with you.. The shower was broken in the room we were initially allocated so we were moved to a better room. The shower was obviously broken and had been for some time, guests should not have been allocated in the first place, pretty sloppy.

This hotel is about a half-hour drive from Cadiz and overlooks a large Marina. Parking in Cadiz can cost up to twenty euros a day. We stayed in Feb/Mar and the 'resort' was dead. Limited opening by a few places for drinks/eat. Nearby half-finished and left to decay development spoiled the overall feel of the place. Two small beaches within an easy walk. There is a ferry from Puerto Santa Maria to Cadiz (drive or cycle to) but is busy and no guarantee of getting the next sailing. So glad we had a car for our two weeks to get into Cadiz and explore other nearby towns. The resort is probably packed and vibrant in the holiday season. The hotel was running with a skeleton crew. Most were friendly and did all they could to help but one guy on reception was absolutely useless – asked him to book us into a flamenco restaurant in Cadiz but it didn't happen – checked a day later with different receptionist and it was done immediately. Breakfast was good and there was a buffet most lunchtimes and evenings with a limited 'a la carte' menu too. There was confusion between staff as to whether we (not in a group booking) we 'allowed' to have the buffet lunch/evening meal. If we wanted a drink or something to eat outside of mealtimes we had to hunt down a waiter to serve us – or walk to reception and ask – not ideal. There are a few eateries/cafés locally and a good but slightly pricey restaurant next door. Rooms were a good size and well kept, though we needed to improvise a bath plug!

Great weekend break
A great weekend break for us, The Marina is out of town and has a nice ambiance. Our room faced the Marina and had a great view from a very large terrace. The staff were very helpful and attentive.We will return and my Wife will get a chance for some Spa treatments.

Hotel location excellent with ample free parking. Room was spacious , well appointed with huge balcony overlooking the marina. Hotel was very peaceful. Breakfast was good. Some details were a bit tired , in need of refurbishment. Marina area had limited but nice bar and restaurants. Good base for visiting Cadiz via the local ferry.

We really like this place!
Just back from our second visit to Hotel Puerto Sherry. Last year we were delighted when on arrival we discovered that the hotel had upgraded us to a marina view room with a huge balcony. This year we felt it was worth paying the extra to secure the same marina view, which stretches across to Cadiz. Glad we did, though on our next visit we might ask for a double rather twin beds - which moved around a lot! The staff at the hotel are extremely helpful and courteous, from reception to housekeeping and the customer service staff. Reception made various bookings on our behalf which we appreciated. We had good weather and were therefore able to enjoy the sun terrace, which was nice and quiet during our stay. Overall, we had an enjoyable, relaxed holiday at Hotel Puerto Sherry and would consider visiting again.
