According to legend, many notorious outlaws passed through our area. Belle Starr and Jesse James were said to have used the area to hide treasure and evade the law. Rumor is the hidden treasure from these bands of outlaws is still waiting to be discovered. Nestled at the foothills of the Wichita Mountains, The Lazy Buffalo has 13 individually themed Cabins and a Bunkhouse. Each is uniquely decorated to capture the essence of the Wichita Mountains and the history of our hometown. Many say that The Lazy Buffalo resembles an Old West Town. Our Cabins are similar to a classic motel layout. There are charming touches throughout the property along with modern offerings such as Wi-fi, Netflix, and self check in convenience. The Silver Spur Cabin has two queen size beds and a walk-in tiled shower. Barn wood, knotty pine, and corrugated tin are used throughout the spacious cabin. Dark stained concrete floors and tin ceilings really add a rustic yet elegant vibe. The kitchenette area has a mini fridge and microwave along with table and chairs. During your stay, enjoy complimentary Netflix and Wi-Fi or unplug and take in the beauty of our area. Watch as the sunsets over the plains from the long covered front porch while lounging in the wooden rockers. Southwest Oklahoma sunsets are truly worth witnessing. Sip on a cup of coffee to get your morning started right and end your adventurous day gathered at the covered picnic area while enjoying smells from the charcoal grill. Yummy marshmallow goodness at the fire pit is a memorable way to cap off the evening or choose to relax under the stars in the back of our vintage star gazing truck, located just a short walk from the cabin. Both kids and adults will love tossing horseshoes and playing old fashion games. Toss Frisbees at the disc golf stations, drop giant checkers to make a Connect 4, create music at our interactive music wall, or team up for some volleyball action. We are always adding new outdoor activities. Don't forget to snap some memories at The Lazy Buffalo photo ops. LOCATION: The Wildlife Refuge, which is just over 2 miles away, preserves 59,000 acres of mixed prairie grass, ancient mountains, lakes, and streams. Herds of bison, longhorn, and elk can be seen roaming free and there's endless recreations opportunities such as fishing, bird watching, mountain biking, hiking, rock climbing, and kayaking. A paved bike lane joins the property and runs throughout the Wildlife Refuge. The Lazy Buffalo is less than a mile from the original Quanah Parker’s Star House and minutes from Lawton Fort Sill and historic Medicine Park so there's plenty to see and do nearby. We live 2 blocks away and are available should you need anything during your stay. NEED MORE SPACE? Our property accommodates up to 49 guests among the 13 vacation Cabins and Bunkhouse. The bunkhouse is a 2400 square foot building with a large gathering area, 2 themed bunkrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, a spacious kitchen with cooking and baking essentials, plus a one of a kind serving area. It’s only a few minutes away from everything. And the camp is set up for everyone to enjoy. They have games for the kids, chairs I front of each room so you can talk to your neighbors. A great place to star gaze up front by the picnic table with a building that blocks the lights of Fort Sill. The rooms are small but all that you need for a good nights sleep with a nice shower and kitchen area. We loved the decorations. I even loved that there was history about the area. ##### Heather G. Host left what looked like a hand drawn pic with 2 Hershey kisses for my daughter & I. Wonderful, personal touch. Only 2 complaints. 1\. Current burn ban so no . (Obviously that’s out of everyone’s control, but still sad) 2\. The cleaning charge is really high. WARNING! It almost doubled the price of our one night stay. We are very clean people. We left the cabin as we would live in our home. My daughter made her bed & I went back & messed it up, Lol!
