Hacienda del Mar in Cabo San Lucas is undeniably beautiful. The architecture is stunning, the landscaping is immaculately maintained, and the ocean views are breathtaking. The resort feels like a true escape—peaceful, romantic, and luxurious. The pools are clean and well-kept, and the beach access is a huge plus, even if the waves can be a bit strong. That said, there were a few issues during my stay that are worth noting. First and most significantly, my card was charged twice for the same stay. While the front desk eventually helped sort it out, the situation was stressful and took time away from the relaxation I was expecting. If you decide to stay here, keep a close eye on your charges and bring documentation to help resolve any discrepancies quickly. Another thing to be aware of: the resort automatically adds a 15% gratuity to every restaurant tab. While tipping is customary and appreciated, this charge isn't always made clear up front. It's something to factor into your dining budget, especially if you're planning to eat on-site often. Cash in pesos is not accepted at the resort, which I found surprising and a bit inconvenient given that we’re in Mexico. Make sure to bring a credit card or U.S. dollars if you want to avoid any payment issues while on property. One personal observation: as a Black traveler, I noticed very few other Black guests at the resort.
