Outstanding stay and this small resort on the edge of the world. The drive from Liberia airport was a long one, but totally worth it to drive into the little village of Montezuma and into the jungle paradise of Ylang Ylang. Our room was right on the ocean. Going to sleep with the crash of the ocean waves outside our door. Beaches - mostly empty save the hermit crabs and occasional local dog. Staff - outstanding. Bed - comfortable. This is a slice of paradise. Highly recommended for those who don’t want to be surrounded by a hundred other people on vacation. Truly amazing

Beautiful resort, HOWEVER, if you aren't an entomologist you might not like your stay here. The doors don't seal, the windows don't seal, the outdoor shower doesn't seal, and that results in every bug and small animal in your villa. That is unacceptable for a "4 star" resort. While it wasn't the end of the world for us, having a June bug fly in your hair while in bed can be very unnerving or the squawk of a lizard on the ceiling at 3am can be annoying. We're not talking about a little gecko either - a 12" long lizard in the room with us for four days. And don't leave the lights on before you head to dinner, the ceiling will be covered in bugs upon your return. The beautiful infinity pool had lots of small tiles missing. Four star resorts maintain their properties better than this. And there's no TV either. It's nice to watch a little something before bed. A TV was in the three other places we stayed while in CR. Four star resorts have TV's. The staff was great. Oh, and you can't mind steps either. Our villa was down 124 steps from the parking area. That means you're going up 124 steps whenever you leave....don't forget something! So much potential, however they fail in execution.

This hotel was family-friendly and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We were able to book excursions through the hotel and spa services as well. There is an aviary on site with macaws, peacocks and other birds. The is a stable on site as well. We were able to go horseback riding on the beach. There are three restaurant choices in addition to the buffet and snack bar. Reservations need to be made a day in advance in order to have dinner at the steakhouse, sushi restaurant, and Italian restaurant. Overall, we enjoyed our stay there although it is quite far from the San Jose airport. It is a two hour drive on the toll road, one hour on the ferry and another 20-30 minutes to the resort. If you don’t mind the traveling, you should book there.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and amenities were great. The pool was very nice and so was the access to the ocean.
