"I love the Outer Banks Motel and used to stay there 15 - 16 years ago. However, now it needs some upgrading. Supposedly we had the coolest room in the motel (Room B) but we were very hot, and it was only in May! The HVAC needs some work! Also this dear place needs to install a better toilet in Room B. The tiny toilet there is probably 30 years old. It is coming loose from its mooring and you feel like you are going to get bucked off! That was even after the maintenance man came in and worked on it too! The room was nicely decorated and the small fully equipped kitchen is very nice with full-size refrig. The staff is friendly and helpful. They have had erosion problems which made it impossible for me to get down to the beach, but they had already started working on it, hauling in truckloads of sand. I love the lady who is the 97 year old owner of motel!"
