Staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was amazing. Bed was very comfortable and room was lovely, with a huge window, though the room could use some updating - just one spotlight bulb in the ceiling and then lots of lamps around made it quite dark with the curtains closed; no usable plug sockets by the bed (wont bother everyone, but it was awkward for me); and the TV was small and not internet enabled. Just silly issues, but it's the kind of thing I would have found annoying if I was staying longer than a night. Obviously an old building but Green King have done the perfect renovations and updates on the rooms, it was very comfortable. Our room was light and airy, the ensuite bathroom left me with bathroom envy with its full size shower cubicle. Liquid soap and shower gels provided and the bath towels were massive and fluffy. Our bed was a bit soft and the pillows a bit hard but we find this in many hotels but it was okay for a couple of nights. A kettle and tea tray was also provided. Being a pub with hotel rooms, the food choices were good and tasted great and the breakfasts were wonderful. We would definitely stay here again if we visit Bury St Edmunds. We thoroughly enjoyed our night at the Bushel Inn. The accommodations were simple, but lovely. Right in the heart of the town..a perfect location to walk to everything. Staff was wonderful and friendly.
