The Sunset Ridge Cabin is a Mount Mitchell Cabin Rental perched near the top of a ridge overlooking Mount Celo, one of the 25 highest peaks in the Eastern United States. The property falls impressively away from the front deck of the house creating unbelievable views of the South Toe River Valley and Pisgah National Forest. Mount Mitchell, the highest point in the Eastern United States is minutes away and can be accessed via hiking trails or the world famous Blue Ridge Parkway. The cabin is a convenient one level with 3 bedrooms off a vaulted ceiling Great Room with log fireplace. The master bedroom, which has a queen bed, is located in the rear of the house and has its own bathroom, walk-in closet, as well as private deck. The second queen bedroom is located in the front of the house, which allows you to open your eyes to views without leaving bed. The third bedroom is in the rear of the cabin and is equipped with two nice twin beds. Both rooms have closets. The kitchen is equipped with range, refrigerator, dishwasher, and microwave, cook wear and an assortment of classic German beer drinking glasses. The cabin is on a quiet hillside and the spacious porch looks out onto the beautiful mountain ridge. Everything was clean and comfortable. As another review mentioned, the big neighbor dog came to visit, but he was very calm and friendly. (Wish I had read this before arriving.) Also, there is no house number on the fence and our GPS stopped at the house before - we figured it out - part of our NC adventure. We loved the mountains and Burnsville is a sweet little town. The cabin was beautiful and the location was stunning, especially at sunset. The home was very clean and we appreciated the layout- big kitchen open to the living room. Rocking chairs on the front porch were nice. There was a dog that lived nearby that was on the property/porch whenever we came home. He was very friendly. Heavier blankets would have been nice as the beds only had a sheet and a thin bedspread, no additional linens were in the closets. The sunset colors were spectacular. The house was clean, well stocked and the beds were comfy. The A/C was slow to cool down the house the first night but once it caught up, it could keep the house comfortable for sleeping since there weren’t fans in the bedrooms. We appreciated being able to bring our fur babies on the adventure. It was a nice private location and was just missing the house number at the end of the driveway, but we still found it following the provided detailed instructions. Plenty of kitchen utensils to work with, good space for a medium sized family or a few friends to share. Lots of dogs off leash in the neighborhood, but all seemed friendly. The porch was a nice retreat, even for the full day that rained. There is a lot of yard maintenance in the area, and the sound carries. The hot tub cover was so heavy and difficult to get on and off!! I had a tub for 15 years and this one needs replaced the light comming from the hill behind house gave off enough light pollution to mess with the meteor showers i was there to veiw. Houses too close for me. They mowed and weeded on Friday until allmost dark. House was cozy but ill choose more privacy and dark skys for me. Worst of all i tool the wrong person to hang out with.
