"Great Hotel Experience in Burnaby"
I stayed here for 3 nights beginning January 1st and found everything about this hotel to be top-notch. A friendly and professional front desk staffer (Pauline) checked me in quickly and efficiently. My room was very clean and comfortable, and the Wifi connection was great. The restaurant service at breakfast was fantastic and the gym met all my requirements. I can't think of anything that would improve this hotel. That being said, I'm sure the hotel was not fully booked (with Christmas and New Year's just ending) because it definitely wasn't busy. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a place in the Burnaby area.

"Burnaby hotel close to mall"
Stayed over the Christmas holiday and loved that the Hilton Metrotown allowed our dog to stay with us for a very reasonable fee. Housekeeping staff were excellent and the front staff was always courteous. Parking is an issue in that it's connected to the Crystall Mall and the design layout is tight to navigate. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay.

"Nice hotel, but where is snow removal? "
Nice hotel. Love that it's pet friendly as we had our 2 pooches come stay with us. However walking them outside in the parking lot where there 6 inches of slush and 6 inches of puddles isn't cool. Seriously need some snow removal done. Please hire someone to deal with this, I also almost slipped and fell several times. Can only imagine how much harder if would be for older people or handicapped individuals.

"Everything I Needed"
I booked three nights at the 401 while I was waiting to take possession of my apartment. I chose it for three reasons: the price, the location (close to my job), and the fact that it's pet-friendly. I was concerned that the room would be run-down or dirty, since it was such a good deal. This was not the case at all! It was basic, yes. It was older, yes. But it was very clean and well-kept. I had to look under the bed to find my cat a couple of times and the floor was spotless; the cleaning staff obviously do their jobs. The bed itself was comfortable, the furnishings were tasteful, and the room was everything I needed - complete with a mini-fridge and microwave, a desk with a nice chair, and a standard bathroom. It didn't have the "extras" that a bigger chain might provide, but that's precisely what I didn't want to pay for. There's coffee on downstairs all day, and the lady at the front desk was one of the nicest people I've encountered since I moved to the city. She's genuine and helpful, and she makes a point to call guests by name. By necessity, the location isn't the quietest (right beside Grandview Highway AND Boundary Road). However, it wasn't sketchy, either - which was the bigger concern for me. If you don't mind some traffic sounds, it's actually a delightfully convenient place to wake up and start your day in Vancouver. Plenty of off-street parking, too, in a secure, treed lot. I would absolutely recommend the 401 to anybody. Affordable, tidy, friendly, and safe.
