Quick Stay Visiting Colleges

Posted 23-Oct-2016
Location: Easy access off main highway and close to City of Burlington. We were there to visit Champlain College and University of Vermont.
Super clean and comfortable, friendly and easy check-in and check out, good location to access the City of Burlington.

Don't be fooled by the photos!

Pros: Close to the highway
Cons: Inattentive staff. Room was very dirty and needs a good cleaning (not just replacing towels and vacuuming). Construction workers need parking.
Location: Near Burlington and all of the shopping and restaurants
Our experience started when we checked in and the front desk man was more concerned with the pizza he just had delivered and talking with his friend in the entry then showing us our room or checking us in. After struggling to find parking (the hotel is undergoing renovations and the workers are staying here I guess?! their trucks take up all of the parking spots and line the driving area on the sides) we found our room. To start with, the room was advertised with a fireplace (which I assumed meant gas and usable) I was wrong. The fireplace was wood only and being that I was traveling, I had no wood to burn or lighter to start a fire. The bed was acceptable minus the stain on the pillow (which went on the floor) but the bathroom was terrible. 1) The shower curtain was orange at the bottom and had a really strong mildew smell. 2) There were black mold spots in the shower 3) the shampoo and body wash provided were empty and 4) the toilet paper was almost empty upon arrival. We were in the room for two nights and although the towels were replaced the toilet paper was not and therefore ran out the second morning (no more in the room anywhere). Additionally, the morning of checkout I went to have a cup of the coffee in the room and found that the package was empty?! How does this happen?

Very nice stay, close to fwy, food and shopping.

Friendly staff, clean rooms and grounds, easy access to freeway, food and shopping. Very quiet location, nice comfortable beds and pillows. It was nice that they provided wall dispensers for the shower, but both the shampoo and body wash ones were empty on arrival and not filled the following day when the room was serviced. Luckily, I travel with my own supply.

Great location near 89. Disturbed by overhe

Pros: location, staff, comfortable bed, dark room
Cons: more dishes in kitchen, deep cleaning of bathroom, fix stuck bathroom door, "hot" breakfast was only lukewarm and not very good
Although the staff of this hotel are very friendly and eager to please, the entire facility is run down. The location is good with access to 89, but the fighter jets flying overhead were somewhat annoying. Free breakfast was not very good as hotel breakfasts go.

Hotel is ok, it consists of a number of two-storie villas, a bit dated. If you "lucky" like us, you may get a room on thenupper floor, be mindful that there are only stairs. So that suitcases, prams will have to be carried up. Location is not great, you will be far from everything. When we arrived, the hotel was re-painting the villas on the outside, including staicases and room doors. It created a bit of discomfort - smell and wet paint everywhere.

Short distance to Burlington

Cons: Wi-fi
Big room, clean, modern. It's not deluxe accommodations so if you're looking for that you should consider another hotel. Excellent for families.

Needs improvement

Posted 20-Aug-2016
The hotel was under renovation. The cleaning staff did not cleaning come into our room when they were suppose to everyday and bring clean towels, empty the trash and make the beds. I had to ask for clean towels they brought them to our room and they told me they were short staffed. I noticed a crack in the cement by our stairs and told the desk clerk and nothing was done about it. There was a caution sign there. We discovered that there was no shower curtain in the bathroom of the loft and had to ask for one and put it up ourselves. The workers that were doing the renovations were staying at the hotel and were sitting on their porch and drinking beer and smoking. I would not recommended this hotel and would not stay here again until they finish the renovations.

Good value

We got an excellent price for a very acceptable modest hotel with full kitchen. Minor irritations like sticking doors that don't fully close and rough shhmeets and bed pad did not matmr the experience. Nice to have the pool and free parking and Burlington is ten minutes drive.
