Throughout 2023 the building received a comprehensive renovation including the construction of a new loft apartment on the second floor of the carriage house. We're excited to welcome Guests to be a part of shaping the next chapter in this great building's life. Welcome to the Platt Mansion! Sprawling across the entire first floor of this historic mansion, this spacious suite encompasses all of the formal entertaining spaces from when the house was occupied by only a single family. Now converted to two bedrooms and two full bathrooms while maintaining original features including marble fireplaces, stained glass windows, hardwood floors, intricate moldings and brass fixtures. This architectural character is accentuated with appointments that seamlessly blend classic charm with modern amenities. Escape to another century of luxury and experience architecture as art. There is a lockbox by the front door with a key to only that door. Use it to get in the first time, then there will be a key inside the unit for your use during your stay. Please reset the lockbox to 0000 after returning the key. Each unit door has a keypad lock. The code will be set to the last 4 digits of the Guest's phone number. This code will work on both unit doors and the side door facing the driveway. The Lower West Side neighborhood of Buffalo, NY is a culturally diverse and historic area located just west of downtown Buffalo. The neighborhood is anchored by retail shops along Niagara Street, and Lasalle Park, soon to be renamed Ralph Wilson Park, spans the Lake Erie shoreline. In addition to its scenic parks, the area boasts several cultural and academic institutions, such as D'Youville University, Kleinhans Music Hall, and the Frank Lloyd Wright Fontana Boathouse. Despite its rich history, the Lower West Side remains a vibrant and tight-knit community, attracting both longtime residents and newcomers alike. The Lower West Side can be accessed through various transportation options. Walking is a convenient option to reach shops and restaurants, while downtown Buffalo, as well as the Allentown and Elmwood Village neighborhoods, can be easily reached by bicycle. Bus stops are available at the intersection of Niagara St and Porter Ave. Additionally, the nearby on-ramp to 190 offers access to the rest of the city, Western New York, Niagara Falls, and Canada. This is a very old house and despite our best efforts, its not perfect. But we hope you embrace the quirks and character as much as we do. The main entrance and stairways are shared so you will probably run into another resident or even the owner during your stay. Be nice and say hi, they might just share a tip to make your stay that much more enjoyable. You will hear footsteps from people in the stairway or closing their doors. He was very responsive and he left a great book explaining everything in the apartment. It also included wonderful recommendations for places to each and attractions in Buffalo. The apartment was spacious - sky-high ceilings, a beautiful bay window with a stained glass border. There's fireplaces in just about every room(I think they are only decorative now) and a wonderful modern kitchen. There's also an enclosed sunroom that would be great during the warmer months. If I were to come back to Buffalo, I would definitely book the Platt Mansion again. ##### Trish B. Séjour de 3 nuits en novembre 2025 ### 6/10 – Acceptable #### Louise B. 22 août 2025 Points forts : Propreté The living room is large and nicely decorated and each bedroom had a large closet but there was no place for anything that couldn’t be hung up. There weren’t any dressers or tables in the primary room to put anything on. There was only 2 tiny bedside tables and the lamps took up 80% of its surface. The front bedroom had adequate bedside tables and a very small round table.The kitchen was nice and clean but we were unable to get the refrigerator ice maker to work. We contacted the emergency number and after 2 days were told they did notknow anything about ice makers and it would take a week to get a repair man. Finally our grand daughter was in a hurry to leave and left her favorite stuffed animal on the bed. We notified the manager and told him how upset she was. He just sent a note that said the cleaning people didn't put it aside. He didn't go out of his way to ask them what they did with it or offer any sympathy.
