The property does have a nice modern aesthetic and is pleasant looking. The bathroom door is a sliding door and it was difficult to open as well as it has a very chincy lock that you can tell is damaged. The photos of the outdoor patio space definitely made it appear nicer than it actually is but was still at least pleasant. Check in staff seemed a little offputting and slightly pushy to get me going when I was asking questions. Breakfast is not complimentary and is quite expensive but there are nearby options to eat still. Overall seemed a little bit overpriced for the stay.

Comfortable bed and walkable but rooms can be noisy for outside noises

Doorman was delightful! King room was spacious. Toilet flush was problematic. The pool was not open despite the advertisement on the Expedia websit. Lots of additional, non-negotiable charges once you get there.

Terrace 16 resto has the best view in Chicago outstanding service. Hotel is located right next to the river cruises. Walgreens is 3 minutes away by foot. Very safe neighborhood several excellent restaurants within 10 minutes on foot. Try Wildberry resta for breakfast excellent food. We really enjoyed our stay at The Emily Hotel. We had a great room at a great price. The check in was quick and easy, we valeted our car which was worth every penny for the convenience. Coffee every morning and a cocktail every evening at the hotel were very nice. The area around the hotel is a whirlwind of fantastic dining and nightlife options. If you're looking for upscale fun for the weekend, you'll love The Emily Hotel in Chicago!
