Located a stone’s throw from the beach, Baywatch is within easy striking distance of all amenities. With the local shop, surf hire and 2 popular local restaurants less than a 5 minute walk away, you should have all you need for a family holiday by the beach! With two bedrooms and a bathroom on each floor, this is the perfect holiday home for one or two families or a group of friends wanting their own space in a stylish and comfortable home in a quiet and breathtaking location. The two downstairs bedrooms are completely private and very quiet with garden views. The lower downstairs king-size room has access to the patio and garden area from the French windows. The upstairs bedrooms are more accessible for those with mobility issues or are staying with young children who might need quick and easy access to the kitchen without disturbing the lower bedrooms. An open plan living area upstairs provides a spacious, comfortable and communal area ideal for families or groups to enjoy together. The living room opens out onto a large balcony area overlooking the waves, cliffs and fields of Widemouth Bay. The balcony comfortably seats eight guests for alfresco dining. Baywatch is within walking distance of a couple of great restaurants and a fabulous fresh fish counter at the village shop. If you fancy a trip into Bude, Baywatch is only a five-minute drive along the coastal road to Bude. In 2016 we began the task of turning this modest two-bed detached bungalow into a contemporary four-bed house set over two levels. This transformation saw the addition of two new bedrooms, another family bathroom, an additional dining area, utility room, hallway and extended open plan living area complete with a balcony. We have still managed to retain a sizeable garden area with a spacious patio and lawn area, including a trampoline and a swing set for the little ones! ACCOMODATION Ground Floor: The main entrance opens into a bright and airy roof-lit hallway complete with glimpses of the sea and countryside views that await. The hallway leads to a spacious open plan kitchen (with a separate utility room), dining and living space. The large patio doors in the living area open out onto a large balcony with breathtaking sea and country views of Widemouth bay and the lower private garden area. There is a dining table and seating for eight people on the balcony. The kitchen has an island and sit-up stools for the maximum use of the space. There is a stylish wood-burning stove that sits between the kitchen and sitting areas to keep the area feeling cosy on those cooler evenings. The sitting area has a couple of roomy and comfortable leather sofas. The dining area has breathtaking views of the surf breaking at Camel Rock in Widemouth Bay. On this level, there is a master king bedroom, a double bedroom and a contemporary bathroom with a spacious walk in shower, W/C and basin unit. Lower Floor: The wide LED-lit staircase leads to the newly built lower level which comprises a master king bedroom, a twin bedroom and a family bathroom with bath, overhead shower, W/C and double basin unit. The master bedroom has French windows which lead out onto the patio area “sun trap” of the garden. GARDEN The garden area comprises a recently landscaped patio and lawn area. In the day the garden becomes a “sun trap” where you can enjoy the sunshine in privacy, thanks to the high surrounding fences. There is a corner sofa and dining bench ideal for eight diners. There is a board rack and heated outdoor shower area in the garden, perfect to warm up and clean off after enjoying the surf and sand a short walk away! FACILITIES & SERVICES Heating is via very efficient gel filled electric radiators and the wood burning stove (there is no mains gas supply throughout Widemouth). The kitchen has a range of modern appliances. There is an electric oven, hob, microwave, toaster, kettle, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. The sitting area has a 60” Panasonic smart TV, as well as a PS3 which plays DVDs, Blu-rays and PS3 games. There is free WiFi available at the property. There is an iron & ironing board. PROVISIONS Electricity, heating, bed linen & towels are all included (one towel per person). If you require beach towels during your stay, please bring these with you. There is parking available for four cars on the private driveway. There is a retractable stair gate, if needed, at the top of the stairs. Cots and highchairs can be provided free of charge. GENERAL BOOKING INFORMATION Prices are based on weekly stays, commencing on a Saturday. 2-week bookings and returning guests will receive a £100 discount. This was our first family holiday for many years and we had a fantastic time. Ross and Lucy are great hosts and we felt very lucky to have been able to borrow their beautiful home, sadly only for a week. They have provided everything you could possibly want to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. The location is spot on, beautiful views of the Atlantic Ocean and a very local shop providing fresh fish and other essentials plus restaurants with excellent menus all within walking distance. Bude is just a short distance away and it's fun to take the bus . It is fair to say we wouldn't hestitate to return to Baywatch and all left with house envy. ##### Anne D. The property had everything we could need to keep a family of five occupied, loads of space for the children and great views for the adults. Ross and Lucy were always on hand to answer any questions. Lucy and Ross were attentive, welcoming hosts who had thought of everything to make our holiday a memorable one. The house is modern, stylish and perfectly equipped and arranged in a way to suit two families, each with their own luxurious bath/shower rooms. We found the bedrooms to be comfortable and peaceful. The kitchen area is a cook’s dream which is ideal for entertaining in the heart of the home with fabulous sea and countryside views. The large leather sofas were perfect for lounging and relaxing in front of the impressive tv or just taking in the view. We loved the look of the garden and terrace with it’s cool furniture and hanging ‘egg’ chair and it’s swing for the kids. The warm outdoor shower was very welcome after a trip to the beach and the location of the laundry room inside the adjacent back door worked well. There is plenty of private parking on this quiet road. The beach is a hop,skip and a jump to the beach. Heartfelt thanks to Lucy and Ross - This is a 5 \* house! ##### Gilly J. Even before we had arrived the owner Lucy had emailed to check if there was anything we needed and said that she would do her best to have the house ready early so we could make the most of our week away. (Unfortunately traffic meant we couldn't get here earlier). We were meet by Ross, Lucy's husband, on arrival and he quickly showed us around the property. On entering the house you can only stop and admire the wonderful view. We have stayed in many properties over the last few years and Baywatch was the most luxurious of them all. Every little thing was though of and this has been the first week where we haven't said I wish we had brought..... The welcome basket, guest access to Netflix, toiletries, hot outdoor shower are just some of the things that make this property more outstanding. Location. Couldn't ask for better. Less than a minute to the beach. Two cafes to choose from for your breakfast, three pubs/ restaurants to eat in and a small local shop all within a couple of minutes walk. You park your car up at the start of the week and you don't need to use it again until you unfortunately have to leave. If you do want to use your car there is more than enough in the local area to help to pass your days. Thank you too Lucy and Ross for the use of their beautiful home it is somewhere we would definitely return to. ##### Gavin H. A lovingly redeveloped and stunning property overlooking Widemouth Bay. The owners Ross n Lucy gave us a a very warm welcome from the out. Great directions and things to do were sent ahead of our stay. A wonderful hamper greeted us on arrival (full of local Cornish goodies). The house spectacular, spotless and comfortable throughout. A true home from home. Sumptuous and luxurious this property is too comfortable. When you do manage to tear yourself away, the beach is x5 mins walk with wonderful surf, walks and bars and more. Bude less than 10 mins up the road. If you love Cornwall, as we do then you will love the Cornish hospitality of this lovely couple, their stunning house with its stunning views. A perfect way to spend a week in the most wonderful of places. Enjoy responsibly.. ##### robin d. Es ist sehr modern und geschmackvoll eingerichtet und bietet so viel Platz in Haus und Garten zum Wohlfühlen. Auch die Ausstattung des Ferienhauses und die Sauberkeit ist hervorragend. Der wundervolle Blick auf das Meer und die Landschaft hat uns immer wieder erfreut und beeindruckt, bei jedem Wetter und zu jeder Tageszeit. Durch die Nähe zum Strand waren wir oft mehrmals täglich und spontan am Wasser. This place is amazing - huge open plan living area with everything you could need and all mod cons, 4 good size bedrooms cleverly split into 2 separate sections of the house making it perfect for 2 families...and then there is the balcony off the lounge with uninterrupted spectacular sea views and the surrounding countryside too. With just a 2 minute walk to a sandy beach plus a good pub right on your doorstep and only a 5 minute drive to Bude its in a great location too. Add to this helpful friendly owners and this really is the perfect place to stay. It’s faultless. Quite simply, if you are looking for a holiday in this area then book Lucy’s house.
