The shower was broken. I told the concierge on the first day, and after 4 nights there it was still not fixed. It floods past my ankles and sprayed everywhere and the shower head kept falling. Additionally, my water bottles were not replaced daily (even after leaving a note asking the cleaning person). I had to ask multiple times for more toiletries. Very clean though and beautiful property. Just a little "grey gardens-y"

The rooms are huge. They are full of antiques. The kitchen has what you need in order to cook. The restaurant has decent food. There is a market a couple blocks away. The neighborhood is charming with cobblestone streets and cute shops. Easy access to bus to take you across the bridge to the Pest side.

This hotel is a nicely decorated historical building situated in the Buda side. My room was really big (70 square metres!) and the furniture was antique style, expensive looking and the overall vibes was one of elegance! The hotel was located in the quieter side of Buda which I liked very much - to be far from the madding crowds and at night, you have the Buda Castle, Matthias Church, Fisherman Bastion all to yourself. I must praise the night time reception during my stay. I carelessly dropped my wallet on the stairs and on spotting it, he immediately called me to return to me. I am so grateful for his integrity. I would love to come back again to stay.

In general excellent standard and location and the cleaners obviously work hard to make things spotless. however .the various concierge’s, for whatever reason, don’t really look like they can be bothered, have a very slack attitude and spend a lot of time standing outside smoking.

Excellent luxury hotel on the Buda Castle side of the city. Very convenient to tourist attractions and to spectacular views of the city. It is in a splendid location. The staff was very corteous and helpful. The hotel it is in an old building beautifully restored. It is quite charming. It has some very nice but expensive restaurants very close by.

A palace, not a hotel room. A special place.
Ultra luxury three room suite in a converted palace. Located on Castle Hill in the the most desirable walking area of Budapest. It is true there is no elevator. but if you can walk at all, then don't pass this up.

We arrived at about 2050. We were greeted by a grumpy receptionist who was clearly unhappy we were interrupting his computer game he was playing. he grudgingly showed us to our room and wordlessly opened the door and disappeared back to his computer game. Not a great start. Other than that we were very happy, especially as we did not have to deal with him again. a word of warning which applies everywhere in Budapest. They are all keen to be paid in Euros, not Forints as they make money on the exchange. My advice is to insist on paying in Forints, it will cost you less. You will have to be forceful upon this.

Live in a palace instead of an ordinary hotel
This "hotel" is an actual palace on Budapest's Castle Hill, which is a fabulous location. Our 3 room suite (plus a bathroom) was replete with antiques and even marble statuary. It was wonderful. Staff were friendly and available 24/7. I would return in a heartbeat.

We still want to love this place....
We love this hotel and this is where we like to stay when in Budapest. The rooms are beautiful, the location is perfect for exploring the Castle district and the area is very quiet at night with plenty of wonderful restaurants nearby. A few things could be improved: the restaurant itself is so historic but the food is always disappointing. We can't understand that with such an amazing location and all of the history that goes along with this building that a better menu and chef aren't put in place. Also DON'T use the laundry service. It promises to be done the same day but two days later we got our clothes back wet and bleach splattered all over a pair of pants! It took another day to get everything dry.

This hotel itself is beautiful, wonderfully furnished, and no issues at all. The location is superb, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Staying here with two small children is absolutely fantastic. Highly recommend it.

Amazing Hotel!
The St, George is an amazing place! The suites are huge, well appointed and impeccable. The area up on Castle Hill is ideal for sightseeing, with many wonderful restaurants close by. The value can’t be beat!

Nice historic area within walking distance.
Ordered room service when I arrived. The only decent part of the meal was the cucumber salad. The weinerscnitzel was so over cooked it was more like jerky. The room was nice, but the housekeeping services depended on the mood of the maid. Some days we received coffee and drinks, some days we had to request it. The air conditioning was very poor and the week we were there was very hot. When I talked to the front desk they said they would take care of it. We returned from an excursion to a fan being placed on the desk. The area provided great historical sites, shops and some extremely delicious restaurants within walking distance. The bakery around the corner was awesome and there was even a Starbucks.

311 charming hotel Review of St. George Residence charming hotel in a very quiet location. at night with the windows open, no noise from the street is heard and at the same time 200 meters to the center of Buda-the main attraction of Budapest is 100 meters to the bus which rides every 5-10 minutes and takes 12 minutes to the center of Pest with its shops and noise. in the otole from the hotel the excellent equipped spacious rooms are very clean. minibar cheap. very polite service including reception restraunt everybody tries to help you.and of course everythings comes from thr owner of hotel-George Stofa he shows the sample of perfect attitude to the guests-not only us .hig

This walls saw a lot
This incredible building about 750 years old with many untold history, -if this walls can be speaking- kind of way. We felt like at the moments we moved in we are at home. This hotel has no hotel feeling, it's your home. Not to many place can pull this off, this has no problem with it. Very helpful and friendly stuff, very pleasant people, and room and the furnishings just perfect. I am highly recommend this place to any traveler whom intrested to stay in a historical place, with a home feeling.

Wonderful boutique hotel
My wife and I stayed in this hotel two years ago when we visited Budapest last time and there was no doubt in our minds that we will stay here again. We spent another wonderful week here at the end of August. The hotel is beautiful with spacious comfortable rooms, kitchenette and fantastic antique furnishing. The Castle district is busy with tourists during the day but in the evenings most tourists disappear and the place turns into a “peaceful medieval town”. Walking there in the evenings is a unique experience with breathtaking views. There are several great restaurants and they are usually not crowded.

The most beautiful location and wonderful building
The suite was large, clean and comfortable. The staff were always welcoming and helpful. The bed was comfortable, the floor in the bathroom was heated. We had only a tub with a shower handle that you had to hold, but it was awesome to have a huge tub to relax in after walking all day. The kitchenette was very useful. The air-conditioning worked well, even for a room on the top floor.

Pleasant stay
This is a nice hotel and the room we stayed in was very large with small kitchen facilities. it is situated in a quiet part of Budapest near the castle. The restaurants surrounding the nearby square were ok but nothing fantastic. I would not suggest having breakfast at this hotel which I felt was very average and cost extra if you wanted a full English. At present there are some parking restrictions but as we arrived by taxi for us was not an issue .Overall Budapest is a lovely city and well worth a visit.

Very nice, quiet hotel in the heart of castle district. Large rooms and comfortable beds, beautiful furniture and setting. There is no elevator so be prepared to climb some stairs. Recommendations for improvement: deodorize the antique furniture as some smell quite bad when you open the doors.

The district the hotel is in is much quieter than Budapest as a whole. It's such a calm respite after a long day to get back to this hotel. It's gorgeously maintained with wonderfully unique and beautiful accents and decor. Love this place!
