Our Cottage would be a great spot to stay for a big family or group wanting to stay in the middle of town. It has a full kitchen, lounge with TV, dvd player, books and games, a BBQ on the rear deck and plenty of room to relax. Lucky we took our own pillows & blankets. The DVD player didn't work and I needed to google how to operate the set top box for the tv. Needs better cooling even with the fans & aircon it was still hot in the property The area was beautiful, the caves was the reason for going there. Not much choice with food, the pubs lack of choice was disappointing. Very family oriented with a range of games, toys, books and dvds for all ages, many quite retro (loved the nerf balls!) Located in the centre of the town with a cafe next door, and directly across the road is the general store, pub and another cafe. Easy flat bike ride to the caves and a small playground 400m away. Kitchen well provisioned. Super soft sheets thankyou! Plenty of drawers and cupboards to store clothing. Split system in lounge room which we needed on the hot days. Would be nice to have more flywire sceens on more windows to allow natural airflow through the house. Sleeps 8 comfortably. Communications with host were great. Very understanding and accommodating. Easy to get in when we got there with the key in a safe at the front door. The location of the cottage was amazing - a very short stroll to the bridge, a playground and right across the road from the cafe/general store/pub. The cottage itself was spotless, beds very comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. Would definitely recommend to family and friends and will return if in the area again. Buchan itself is a beautiful hamlet in East Gippsland with so much to see and do in the area. An added bonus was being able to take our furry friend. The cottage is very well fenced with plenty of grass to play on.
