This beautiful log home is brand new, filled with custom built touches, and offers the perfectly secluded spot for your mountain getaway. This lovely three bedroom, two bath log home sits nestled on a mountain in the gated community of Alarka Highlands. The view from The Walnut will absolutely take your breath away. You will immediately be amazed by the ample windows framing the front of the cabin, perfectly placed so that you can enjoy the outstanding views, whether inside or out. Once inside, you will love all the custom cabin touches. From the tongue and groove throughout, to the darkly stained wooden beams, to the custom built wormy chestnut barn wood - every little detail matters. The open floor plan leaves the living and kitchen area in the perfect place so everyone can relax together. The kitchen equipped with custom cabinetry, stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, and is fully stocked with everything you'll need for a nice delicious meal at home. The living room area is equipped with flat screen television with streaming capabilities and comfortable seating. Downstairs you will find two guest bedrooms, one features a queen sized bed and the other one full and one twin. The bathroom features a tub/shower combo and is convenient for all guest use. The master bedroom is located upstairs and features a loft seating area, king sized bed, flat screen television with smart TV streaming only service, and private bath with tile shower. While the inside is lovely, the outdoor setting is enough to make you fall in love with The Walnut. Whether it's relaxing on the large deck enjoying the amazing view, toasting a few s'mores at the fire pit while breathing in the crisp mountain air, or taking a nice needed dip in the hot tub - you'll be sure to enjoy the Smokies right from the comfort of your cabin. The Walnut at Alarka Highlands is located about a 30 minute drive from downtown Bryson City, where you will find The Great Smoky Mountain Railroad, the entrance to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park, and many delicious restaurants and boutique shops. The Cherokee Indian Reservation is located about 45 minutes away, where you can find the entrance to the National Park and Harrah's Cherokee Casino. Also located in a 45 minute drive is the Nantahala River Gorge where you can find whitewater rafting, kayaking, and zip-lines. Great location with beautiful views of the Smokies right off the front porch. If you're looking for a great place to unplug and unwind this is it. No cell service, but there is wifi if you need to stay connected or stream shows/movies, plus there's DVDs if you want to go old school.Only downside is it's a long drive back to town if you need anything, so make sure to stock up before you go. There is a 12 cup drip pot coffee maker, but they only had 4 cup filters in the cabin, so just do as i did and make smaller pots, or grab filters before you arrive.
