Upon arrival, we had issues connecting to the Wi-Fi—no password was provided (via email or written), and the upstairs A/C wasn’t working. Without internet, it was hard to get help, and resolving these issues took most of our first day.Cleanliness was a concern. A dirty mop head was left in the laundry room, cobwebs and dead bugs were present, and the coffee pot still had old residue and a dead bug inside. The stained couch mentioned in earlier reviews hadn’t been addressed, and the furniture overall could use deep cleaning.There were some positives: the cabin has great amenities, plenty of TVs, and our kids loved the pickleball court, upstairs game area, and their own bathrooms. We also enjoyed making s’mores by the fire pit and relaxing in the peaceful outdoor setting.However, a few days after our stay, several members of our group developed large, itchy welts. The kids recalled seeing bugs in their beds. While we used bug spray outdoors, we did not use it inside. We’re unsure if the bites were from spiders or something more serious.We suggest having the interior professionally treated for bugs. With improvements to cleanliness, responsiveness, and pest control, this could be a great rental. As it stands, we’d be hesitant to return or recommend it. ##### Joyce J. Our family decided to spend a long weekend together for Pappy's 70th birthday. The kids loved the place. There was plenty of beds for everyone and plenty to do. In fact, the kids did not want to go to the state park. They just wanted to stay to play pickleball and basketball, air hockey and other games and they could not wait until dark to roast marshmallows for s'mores. We even took a few walks through the neighborhood and fished in the pond.Our only complaint was the roads to get there. There was a two mile rock road from the highway to the cabin and it was hard on our cars. Check-in was seamless except the extended bedroom had a code that wasn’t given to me but one phone call and issue solved. The pond was stocked but small bass fish. They were so small that we threw them back in the pond. We followed the Check out process but it seemed as though we cleaned the place for the cleaners. Overall the place was very nice and relaxing. Game room was fun as well. . Be prepared for dirt roads in route to the cabin. ##### Jacqueline D A. Family of 14 total had a comfortable place to sleep. We went for walks, played pickleball, shuffleboard was fun but we did need to level it a little with playing cards. Lots of room to spread out. Loved the many areas to sit on the porch and the automatic fireplaces made getting warm super easy. Would definitely recommend and return! ##### Anna A. It was fine for what we needed it for. The property was clean, the beds were nice, and the bathrooms were clean. My issue was the kitchen setup. It lacks several prep items, such as bowls and utensils, to cook with. It is not a well-stocked kitchen, and you would have difficulty cooking a full meal (as I did) if that is your plan. There are zero mixing bowls. 2 small stainless steel ones, and that's it. The towels in the bathrooms were of cheaper quality, a basic hotel towel. The rug in the living room is extremely dirty and stained; although the couch was comfortable, it was also stained in several areas. There was plenty of space inside the home. Unfortunately, I would not choose to stay here again. There are ample better cabins in Hocatown with better accommodations. ##### JESSICA W. The cabin had everything we could possibly need and more to make our stay the best possible.
