Clean, comfortable and cheerful, this cottage is within 2 block walking distance to historical Abingdon District, local restaurants and the VA Creeper Trail is just a few short blocks away.Get tickets to the Barter Theater... a must do! There were no blinds in the living room/ kitchen. The blinds in one of the bedrooms was sheer. I had to hang sheets up for privacy. The ac units on the wall in each room were not working. One of the bedrooms was too hot to sleep in the first night. They did come the next day and put a stand up ac unit in the second bedroom and refunded one night. The house was stocked with plenty of essentials. The location is pretty quiet, inviting and relaxing; we enjoyed morning coffee on the back porch. We loved the location of the Blue House as well as the house itself. Tastefully and thoughtfully decorated, open and spacious. Abbey and Ron have done a fantastic job on the house and are gracious hosts. Check in and check out were simpler than any hotel. It made for a perfect launch pad for us to hike several times in the area as well as ride the Creeper Trail. A block off the main street, quiet but incredibly convenient to restaurants and shopping.
