My stay at the Marriott Hotel was excellent.
A fabulous way to start my Queensland Holiday.
My room was excellent, was close to the pier walk so convenient to find eagle st pier hub, restaurants and nightlife. Checking in my only concern was as I booked through expedia I didn't notice anywhere that there is supposed to be a $200 pre-holding amount on your credit card.
The thing is I only had my debit cards not credit cards and as I didn't know about that fee or holding deposit as I'd already paid for the room in advance I was a little annoyed that this is not pre-advised.
I paid any room expenses when I checked out with cash, so it wasn't an issue in the end.
The concierge down near the taxi rank were always very friendly and helpful which is great as I'm not from Brissy and didn't know my way round that well.
Also bar staff and breakfast staff were always helpful :)
Clean, modern room, quite small but creative layout so didn't feel cramped. A great base for getting out and about, close to ferry, train and shopping. Street is a little dark at night but seemed safe and was fairly quiet.
The unusual bathroom layout, with one door covering shower and toilet alternately probably means these rooms are better suited for the solo traveller, certainly not for those who require a lot of privacy from their roommate, or for those who want to spend a lot of time in the room.
Nice Hotel, convenient for train & airport hook up. Fly in from anywhere, train to Central Station (direct from Airport), up 2 floors & your there. Then you can catch the train to just about anywhere, from 2 floors down.
Very nice hotel in the CBD; very easy access from the airport via train and a few minutes' walk. Good size apartment with useful facilities including washing machine and tumble dryer. Kitchen was adequate, but could have done with more cutlery - dining table sat 5-6, but only 3 forks in the drawer, and 4 of everything else. We appreciated the little dishwasher, too.
Excellent views across the river from the 34th floor.
We enjoyed our stay and would happily go back again.

Overall good experience though only stayed one night. Reception staff unsure of location of local hospital but another staff member able to help. No toiletries in bathroom - not even tissues or a hand towel!!! Terrible tea bags!!
