Nick is a good communicator and easy to deal with. He sent us a detailed description of the road to follow to his place in Breton Cove, and when we arrived, he was waiting for us at the end of the driveway and accompanied us to the house to give us a tour and to answer any questions we might have. He let us know that he'd be available if we needed him, but we didn't and we didn't see him the 6 days we were there. The location is very private and there is no outside noise. The house is comfortable and well appointed, with a rustic feel to it. The kitchen has absolutely everything you need, and is exceptionally clean, the pots and pans are of excellent quality, and there are lots of plates, cups, glasses, etc. We did quite a bit of cooking, but there are also take-outs in the vicinity including a good pizza place and the General store, which sells great lobster and crab sandwiches (Seagull in Ingonish has delicious lobster rolls and Charlene's is worth going out of your way for, just for the seafood chowder). The house is roomy and has a good deal of natural light. Everything worked without a hitch, TV, lights, shower, dishwasher, washer/dryer. Nick left lots of pamphlets and a map of the area, and a few books on things to do in Cape Breton. We enjoy hiking and found interesting trails every day, our favourite being the Franey trail, which has stunning views from the peak. We highly recommend this rental to anyone who wants to spend time in the area.
