Sit on the front deck and enjoy the sounds of the river or stargaze while surrounded by the enchanting beauty of the rolling emerald hills. Right outside the door you can walk, bike or jog for miles on quiet scenic dirt roads. Located on a dirt road 20 minutes from Brattleboro and just a few miles from the Massachusetts border, our cottage is the perfect place to relax or enjoy all the area has to offer. COTTAGE: Our three bedroom, one bath cottage, is the perfect escape for couples or groups. The right size to feel cozy on a romantic getaway and spacious enough to host a family/group of six. Custom touches throughout with our slate light switch covers and river rock knobs. Tastefully, simply decorated with unique wall art and furnishings. We have a fully stocked kitchen- plenty of dishes, cutlery, cookware, cooking oil, spices. Gas range/oven, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, toaster oven and programmable drip coffee maker. For entertainment we have a Roku device so you can stream on our 55” flat screen in living room and a 40" Smart TV in master bedroom. Hand drums, board games, adult and children’s books, as well as coloring books/crayons and children's toys. \*\*No baseboard heaters upstairs, so it stays cooler than main floor during cold weather, but we have lots of extra blankets to keep you toasty warm. We suggest placing one of our fans at the bottom of stairs to push the warm air up.\*\* Both upstairs bedrooms have an A/C and we have four fans that will be there year round. There is also an A/C in the downstairs living room. PRIVATE YARD: Private yard with gas grill and fire pit-we provide the wood. We have converted the garage into a patio area with a dining table where you can enjoy meals and be protected from the occasional summer thunder storm. A deck on the front of the house allows for the perfect place to listen to the river, enjoy morning coffee and evening libations, read a book, stargaze and watch the moonrise. There’s a picnic table behind our barn where you can drink in the serene sight and sounds of the brook. Access the brook behind our barn— our property is bordered by Jelly Mill Brook and Green River. We won’t be at the house to greet you. We respect your privacy and will not drop in. We do live right down the road if you need us for anything. OUTDOOR ACTIVITES in IDYLLIC LOCATION : We live in an area popular with bikers, walkers, and runners for the MILES of quiet country dirt roads right outside the door. A mile and half down the road lands you in the quaint 1800s village of Green River complete with covered bridge, church, and small timber dam where you can swim and enjoy a picnic lunch. OTHER THINGS to NOTE: \*Located in Guilford, Vermont, we are a 20 minute drive from Brattleboro where you will find the nearest grocery stores, restaurants, and gas stations. You will also travel on about four miles of dirt road to get here. \*Winter tires or AWD/4WD are highly suggested during the winter months.\* \*There is no cell service in our area. Our hosts provided everything we needed to make our stay perfect. I also like that the hosts were not overboard with all the rules, as with some other rentals. The hosts were beyond friendly and had excellent communication throughout the whole process. If you are looking for a lovely home with a ton of space to stay while exploring Vermont and Massachusetts, I highly recommend this place. ##### Eddie G. This home has everything my family needed for a weekend away. The space was very comfortable and well-appointed with lots of outdoor and indoor spaces to enjoy. A bit off the beaten path…but worth it! Such an immaculate, comfortable home. It is nestled within the gorgeous beauty of southern Vermont. You can be in Brattleboro for necessities in 20 minutes. There are so many wonderful walks you can take right outside your door. This was just the calm we needed toward the end of our 10 day trip. The home was clean and perfect for them to cook dinners, hike the local area and just relax. Owners were very welcoming and easy to communicate with. They did not bring bikes this time but if they return they recommend bringing mountain bikes to enjoy the many dirt roads and beautiful area. They loved the ice cream place and the covered bridge. VT town of Guilford, nestled in the hills below the bigger town of Brattleboro. The location feels 'out of the way' - no big roads (or even paved roads), stores, 'hustle or bustle' anywhere close by - but Brattleboro has all that stuff and is only 20-30 minutes away. For 'last minute' items a charming, smaller grocery / sandwich shop is closer by. The property itself is very clean, with an up to date kitchen and glitch-free speedy Wi-Fi (no cell signal, however). The immediate surroundings offer plenty of dirt roads and snowmobile trails to hike around on and enjoy the quiet woods, rolling hills, gentle Green River, old covered bridges and small farm plots you'd expect in rural VT. For my stay I was looking for a clean, comfortable base in a peaceful, scenic, 'natural' New England setting. The Jelly Mill delivered! I would definitely return. ##### Paul W.
