The bathroom in the first room appeared to not have been cleaned. Hair and other remnants in the shower and around the toilet. The walls and doors were damaged. I was worried we would be accused of causing the damage and be charged, so I did take pictures. The hallways were dirty, both tile and carpets. The finishes from whatever work that had been done were very poorly completed. Wallpaper is lifting, gaps where materials were cut too short or crooked. Paint splatters on the floors. Spoke with front desk regarding our dirty room who gave us an upgraded room. Somewhat cleaner but shower was also dirty with hair, yellowing and broken tile. Dirty around the baseboards and corners. Not hard to see especially with the dark floors. We were not nitpicking. Carpet in the bedroom, next to the closet is wet for whatever reason. We left it at that and just dealt with it. Did not want to complain again. Just a little shocked being that this hotel carries the Marriott name. We certainly paid enough for the room and had higher expectations.
