The wisteria was in full bloom. I felt like I was taken back in time, expecting a carriage to pull up at any moment.Amanda is a great host and answered all our questions. Our itinerary the day after we arrived was:Day 1 -- Bath. We did the free walking tour (fantastic) and toured the Roman baths.Day 2 -- Stonehenge (We walked instead of taking the bus, which was so much better.) Avebury (one pub in town) and Castle Combe (dinner)Day 3 -- Glastonbury and Wells. I highly recommend going to the evensong at the Wells cathedral. A Sainsbury's was just down the road from the cottage, which was great. We had a lovely time staying at Granby Cottage for my Mum’s 70th birthday. We surprised her with an overnight stay after a birthday meal nearby and she was very wowed! The property was perfect for a family stay, lots of space and a really cosy front room, which was great for eating together, games and relaxing. The kitchen was well equipped too and they left some handy essentials for us which was much appreciated. The only thing we found was the main bedroom was quite cold, we put the heating up for the duration but that far part of the house seemed to stay pretty cool and there was a bit of a bite to the air when we went to bed. Luckily the bed was very comfy and cosy. We also had a little bit of a delay getting the instructions to check in but once we did it was straight forward. About 20 minutes to Bath, traffic pending. Cottage is spacious and homely too. Decorated with taste; high end furniture, bedding, crockery etc. Lots of doggy goodies available too which was nice.Whilst our stay was excellent and we would love to return and recommend, we did have a few issues with the tv on the first day. Managed to get Prime on the 2nd day so that was ok. When we returned after dark it was a dark walk through the gate/door to the front door. Perhaps a low level solar light might help.Neither point had a detrimental impact on our stay. Oh, fresh bread, butter and milk was much appreciated. ##### Joanne F.
