As others have said the beds are in terrible shape. The bed in my room had a huge divot in it. You could see it when the bed was made, so they had to know. The other side ended up being comfy enough. I was on a motorcycle, so they let me park in the garage area. That was nice. Check in was easy. The place appears to be mid renovation, so there was lots of stuff that didn't work, so give it a while and it will probably be very nice, but right now from what I saw it is only decent. I was only there for one night, so it worked, but not sure I would be so forgiving if I would have needed to be there any longer.

Our party of eight had three rooms reserved. Arrived and when entered our rooms found all three rooms had not been cleaned. We were moved to three other rooms. Entry foyer floor full of leaves. Drink vending machines very low stocked. Breakfast food okay, not great. Blow dryer in one room did not work. Overall the property was not pleasant and would not recommend at all.

My family and I stayed at this lodge 3 years ago during our trip to yellow stone park and it was one of the highlights of our trip. What a difference 3 years have made! 3 years ago the rooms were unique and made to look like a cabin in the woods with quilted blankets and hand carved wood bedroom furnishings. The staff were local and gave us so much advice as to what to see and where the best places to eat and shared stories of wildlife in the area. The pool and game room were clean and the breakfast was the biggest and and had the most selection of any hotel I had ever stayed at. The new owners of the lodge have changed all that, starting with my reservation being lost despite my name and booking company being in the system. I was forced to cancel my reservation through my booking company and reservation a room through the hotel itself. When we got to the room it was disappointing to see a plane room with generic bed sheets and furnishings. The pool had the pool light hanging out the edge of the pool while still plugged in. The breakfast area was a disgrace with the fountain drink machine leaking all over the floor, trash can overflowing onto the floor and stale bread, doughnuts, and muffins from days before. The only thing edible was a couple bananas and yogurt in the fridge. Most guests just turned around and left at first sight. This was the first time I couldn't wait to get out of.

Lodge conveniently located. Under rennovation. Room ok, but the noise in the night, the whole night, have been annoying. In the morning nobody was at the reception, and together with other customers we just left the K-Card and left (without receipt)

This property is DESTROYED, looks NOTHING like the photos, reeks like pee, overflowing, gross trash cans, zero amenities, completely torn up, filthy carpet, freezing inside, weird employees, totally sketchy. I was absolutely appalled. Ruined our vacation as we had no idea what we were walking into. We did not stay and had to scramble to find alternative amenities which was not wasy. Awful!!!

Our experience was awful. We checked in, walked into the room, and checked out in under ten minutes. The hotel was being mitigated for bugs at the time of our arrival, so room windows were all opened and mattresses were leaning against the windows; the bug truck sitting alone out front. The chemical smell that greeted us in our room gave us an instant headache, it was so strong. The sheets were chewed through, the bathroom was dirty, there was mold in tub, and the toilet seat was falling off. The garbage outside the window was a nice touch. When we went to another hotel in the area we were told that it wasn't uncommon for people to wake up covered in bugs when staying at the Yellowstone Pioneer Hotel, but that it also recently changed ownership. Hopefully the new owners can turn things around. Because we will not be booking there again.

It took 30 minutes to receive service to get checked in and when we got to our room it didnt have shampoo or conditioner or soap. And there were no bedding only sheets. We could not gwt anyone to answer the phone at the front desk.

It looked abandoned when I pulled up. You couldn’t enter through the main doors. You had to go through a parking garage. It smelled faintly of sewer the first night. The floor hadn’t been vacuumed in ages. The heater filter needed to be changed. Thick dirt on the window sill. Blackened grout in the shower tiles, which looked like they were falling apart. Chunks out of the bathroom door. The wall light pulsed faintly all night, like a heartbeat, even thought the light was off. Toilet bowl...ugh.

Great place, my only thing I didn't like was the breakfast was not the greatest. Then again I have high expectations for breakfast, other than that I enjoyed my stay. I didn't get to try out the pool, but it looked good, floor plan was really unique.

There is a parking garage which was nice because it was very windy. The room was fine with comfy beds. The bunk beds were a nice touch for the kids. The room was right by the pool. Luckily no one was swimming because it might be loud. Went to take a shower and there was hair in the tub and no hot water despite letting it run. Probably won’t stay here again.

Nice decorations and garage parking.
I was really grateful for the parking garbage because it had snowed the night we stayed. However, when I pulled back the sheets to climb into bed at 10 pm they were covered in black dog hair. It was late and I was tired so I just slept on the top sheet. My allergies were going off and it was a miserable night as I imagined the sheets hadn't been changed at all and I wondered about the pillowcases. I also noticed the floor wasn't vacuumed. When I mentioned it to the clerk upon check out, she didn't believe me.

Breakfast could have been a bit better. A waffle iron with some syrup is easy enough, but frozen breakfasat burritos! YICKS.. Otherwise we wnjoyed the staff and other tenants. Jo, our dog also enjoyed being allowed to stay with us.

The Yellowstone Pioneer Lodge was not what I expected. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable but the bathroom was a disaster. The shower would either freeze you out or boil your skin. The toilet was the absolute worst of anywhere I have ever stayed. I wonder if it was acquired in an elementary school "fire sale." It was LOW to the floor and IT WAS NOT MADE FOR A MAN TO USE!!! IT WAS "CROWDED" and THE WATER LEVEL WAS WAY TOO HIGH AND COLD WATER ON YOU "MAN-BUSINESS" IS NOT GOOD OR EXPECTED. Absolutely rediculous. "Breakfast" was another disaster. Cereal was the main attraction. Horrid!!! Coffee was awful too. We went to McDonald's instead.

Way overpriced and misrepresented! It wasn't what we expected from the pictures at all 😔 The front desk clerk seemed to be busy doing something in a side room. She was not welcoming at all, I felt like I was interrupting her. The elevator smelled old and it was tiny. I was certain it was going to stop and we were going to have to crawl out the top before help would get there! I would have used the stairwell, but every door I opened was a janitor closet or supply room. The trim was coming off of the ceiling, the toilet wouldn't stop filling - start, stop, start, stop - ALL night long. The beds are not comfortable at all. The pool... The layer of brown on the tile (I think it's supposed to be a blue??) that was above the water line was absolutely disgusting. I couldn't get out of there fast enough the next morning. I had my family out the door by 6am. We will never be back.

Staff was rude and unfriendly. Breakfast was lacking. Even though we gave them credit card info when we checked in, they wanted it again when we checked out. I know we used Expedia but every other place we have stayed also using Expedia has given us a receipt. They could not.

We loved the pool, staff was great and the bar area was great! We had a lot of fun during our stay. Only thing we didn't like was the Halloween decorations. Made the place feel "cheep" and took away from the nice, welcoming feel of the lobby.

Happy with our stay
I was pleasantly surprised, especially after reading the reviews, for this hotel. Check in was easy and quick, as well as cheaper than I made out reservations for. The lobby was decorated wonderfully up for Halloween! Our room was spacious and clean. The hotel is a bit outdated but for the price we paid, I feel like we got an exceptional deal. I would recommend this hotel and I would definitely stay again.
