Not as I hope for an anniversary weekend with my

Parking in front of the cabins are to small. Saturday we came back after being gone all day and were unable to park in front of our cabin because the cabin next to us decided to back both of their vehicles and block our parking. They also paid no attention to their children and proceeded to yell from the cabin to the road at them. The fire pits are to close to the vehicle and cabin.

  • Disliked: Cleanliness, amenities, property conditions & facilities

Understand, we're used to staying in hotels, and we're aware this property is used for camping as well, but as a hotel experience it was horrible. We paid well over $200 a night to see Mammoth Cave NP. We checked in and found no linens and all mattresses wrapped in plastic. Upon inquiry we were told we had to pay extra for linens. Granted, our confirmation email did tell us that, but I've never had to pay for linens befoe (nor at $200+ per night would I expect to!) so we missed that. However, the email said linens were $30, and they charged us $34. We thought the plastic wrap on the mattresses was a convenience, but once we unzipped one mattress and got a whiff of the moldy smell, we realized it was a necessity, so we spent two nights sleeping on crinkly old plastic covered mattresses. They have a thing called a "wibit" which cost us $80 to use. It's a big inflated plastic thing in a manmade manmade pond. The pond is not filtered, aerated and has no natural circulation, so the water is green with overgrown algae and stinks. One of the lifeguards took a rowboat the 15 feet from shore to wibit and told me he doesn't like going in that water. Say no more.

short but great

The cabins were perfect & the location was great. The guest areas (the pools) were quite run down though & in need of varying levels of repair. The staff was fantastic & everyone we encountered was friendly, just needs a bit of TLC
